security of the rooms and integrity of the staff

I plan to take my laptop to offload my images daily from my camera. I know my laptop would be much safer staying in the room than with me in the park. Can I get feedback/opinions on the security of the rooms and integrity of the staff? I'm staying in POFQ.

I do really really dumb stuff sometimes.

Left my $1000+ digital camera just sitting in the room - case not even closed.

Left everyone's passports + cash just sitting on the table.

But I do believe my most prized dumb move was this last time when we did a last minute "stay a day and switch a room" we left all of our lugage w/ the bellhops. Including my purse which contained: checkbook, all my id, credit cards, $1K+ in cash and our passports.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I"m an idiot and probably deserved to have stuff stolen. But nope ... nothing has ever been touched in a WDW resort.
