From what I am to understand, security is just searching for weapons and other items that would pose a threat to our Guests. Food is perfectly acceptable to bring in, although I have heard many stories about Alcohol being confiscated at the Magic Kingdom gates. :)

We had some fruit in our bag and they didn't say a thing. Another family took in a picnic lunch. The security guards didn't seem to say anything to them.

It makes you wonder what all people are throwing away when they see the signs about the searches. Can you imagine how many snacks have been thrown away before getting into the parks?

Let me add my thanks! I always bring my own water bottle in...I refuse to pay $2.50! And I usually have fozen juice boxes, fruit snacks, an apple, grapes, and Mentos for the kids. Glad to know that won't be a problem!
