Security Checkpoints

Well I think they do waste some time. And they do not really enforce the no food or drink rule. So what are they there for. Why not use metal detectors?

I don't think they care much about snacks. We brought snacks last year, and they didn't stop us.

Same here. I had food in my bag and nothing was said to me. If they did ask me about it, I would simply tell them it was for diatary needs.

The security has never been a bad thing to me. I was there right after 9/11 when the security was impemented and it is very comforting to see that Disney has taken response to a serious issue. If I were to see the checkpoints taken down now, I would feel betrayed by the company. They have since become a staple part of the parks to me and I'm fine with it.

Here's my view on this topic-

I understand that people are not going to put a weapon in there bookback, purse, etc. So what's the point of it? Disney Security barely even checks the bags, at all. But it's something by law they have to do, to make sure those terrorists don't try and do anything. I feel more safe though knowing that they are checking the bags.

My thoughts exactly. While disney security is interesting, i will say that there are many layers that arent visible.

Besides, do we really need to publically point out the holes or give people ideas? Nope.

Disney Security is fine, even though they can't do anything. (See mkt's avatar) I don't mind as much cause I don't have a bag. Even if they don't do anything, most people probably wouldn't bring anything in for fear that the one time they tried to sneak in a weapon, they would get caught. The security check might have an effect on some people to not bring things in. On the other hand, everyone could know that it's a joke...:lookaroun

Disney's Security is a J O K E!!!

A joke...

a funny haha joke

a funny cause they're inevitably powerless joke.

A funny that I've seen real security, real policing, and real safety measures and then I experienced Disney security joke.

Live 1 day in Latin America, then you'll see real security. Private cops resemble real police, real Police resemble SWAT units in riot gear, and the SWAT unit resembles marine recon...

don't talk to me about Disney Security... it doesn't exist. Disney Security is the biggest oxymoron yet

Like i said, the people at the bag checks arent the ones to be afraid of. The ones who blend in with the crowd and suddenly appear out of nowhere to ask you what you are doing, those you need to fear.
