we are real excited because we are going to get to spend time with friends (who are also WDW fans ) that will be there from England the same time we are ..but they are not staying on site this time and I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be a problem for them to visit us in the evenings at CBR. I havent heard or read much about changes in Security at the resorts, I know always in the past we just said we were staying there ( which ever resort ) and went right on in. So I would like to know in advance if there might be a problem.

I think as long as they tell them they are going to dinner, I don't think they will have any problem. They aren't tooo picky in that aspect.

Thanks :) this trip to WDW for them is being paid for by His parents who are celebrating an anniversary ..and they have never seen a Disney Resort ...so My friend is also hoping that when they see what they are missing they will never want to stay off site again :) plus since the parks will be closing earler we thought that getting together at the CBR would be a nice way to spend those evenings. But I really got to wondering if there might be a problem to them getting in or if I would need to let someone know that they were coming ahead of time

Our daughter and her boyfriend visited us at Port Orleans last summer, and all the kids had to do was tell the security guard at the gate who they were visiting. From there, it was no problem!

do you think this would include someone that is visiting us at the Caribbean Beach? I am not worried about us actually getting on .. just having my friends come by in the evenings .. maybe our best bet would be to ask when we check ?

I have had my sister-in-law & her husband visit us at our resort almost every trip without difficulty.(they live in Orlando area) However, I haven't met with them recently,(within last 9 months) so don't know if security has changed. I've always told the front desk I'm expecting someone, and their names. I plan on having "outside" visitors when I'm there in August...I hope it won't be a problem!

that sounds like the right idea ..to give them the names at the desk ahead of time ..thanks bunches, I honestly wouldnt have worried about this in past years and I really doubt it will be a real problem but it was something I wanted to be prepared for ..of course no matter how much I prepare something is missed :)

Depends where you go, haven't been to CBR post September 11 but at WL they always stop you and ask to see photo ID, sometimes they write down your license plate number (I have a tendency to look suspicious since i'm 18 /w not overly conservative spiked hair, driving a new Infiniti). Boardwalk checks ID but does't write down license plate numbers. Just your guests to tell the guard that they are going to eat dinner (or if at boardwalk they are going to the dance club)
