Second Dumbo spinner spinning

So the second spinner is in test mode and I would not be suprised to see it open this weekend.

Does anyone know if both spinners have the same number of arms? The artist renderings seem to show one spinner with more ride vehicles than the other. Seems like that would look awkward.

Anyway, I thing the effect of two spinners will be amazing. Can't wait.

^By now, we've been told numerous times that both spinners will be exactly the same, and I would assume that goes right down to the number of Dumbos on each.

I still don't understand why that rendering made people think that there would be a different number of arms on each spinner...it was an artist rendering, and from a distant view at that! And one was spinning and one was not, making it more difficult to distinguish how many arms were shown. Either way, there was no need to put so much stock in it and I don't know why people did.

Not directing this specifically at you, jt, as others have brought this point up as well and I just can't understand why.

That's great news! Hope both are open for my trip down the first week of June. I'd love to get some pics of a fully functional Dueling Dumbo, especially at night with all of those lights.

I have the actual prints for Dumbo and yes they are identical.

that 1% assumes that the entire ride has been re used..

the only things retained / reused were the drive chassis .. all new dumbos, all new everything else.

The one that was spinning is what confused people. It had half the arms at the highest point and half at the lowest so if you didn't notice that every other arm was in a different position you would think it only had half the arms.

aha! Thanks for that info. Pardom my ignorance but I had missed any discussion on the matter.

How cool would it be to own a Dumbo from the original ride!?!

Yes! :)

Why do you think that there are new Dumbos? Since they are spinning in the same direction as the original Dumbos, wouldn't it be "cost effective" to reuse the originals? We ALL know how TDO is ALWAYS looking to save a buck! It makes no $ence to make new ones. Just repair what they had.

Having ridden the new Dumbo, I noticed the ears are different. Don't know if they kept the bodies and just gave him new ears. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.

Well, in August, they were putting the final coat of paint on ALL of the new Dumbos in Central Shops. Saw them when we were on the Backstage Magic tour. There were more Dumbos sitting there than go on one carousel. It only makes sense to cast all new bodies and paint them all at once. Then they're all exactly the same age and likeness.
