Hey Fizzle~~ you wrote exactly what I was going to say...so much sarcasm in the group tonight.

I have head of it, never been in it and really don't see that big of a deal about it. OK, some may say, "you're just saying that because you want to go in it." Well, really I don't. I think it is a restaurant that you have to basically pay admission to get into and then have to even pay to eat once you are in there. Why not go upstairs and eat at Blue Bayou and call it a day? Sounds like a club trying to exclude people. If I had someone that wanted to invite me in as a guest, then yeah, i'd go but not to become a member myself.

Club 33 is upstairs, you'd have to go downstairs to eat at Blue Bayou.

Based on the pics I've seen on the Internet, Club 33 is neither secret nor particularly difficult to get into.

I pressed the intercom and spoke to the woman inside and she let me walk around the downstairs lobby area and take pictures.
wow, that's quite an accomplishment, since they aren't supposed to even do that :)

I'm pretty sure the number 33 is part of its street address, which it needs in order to have a liquor license.
There's lot of urban legends around that, but the liquor license one is definitely fake, since DLR is covered by a blanket liquor license that covers the Disney owned/operated establishments. There are many reasons behind it, most likely none real, from the number of the building, to Walt liking how the stylized '33' looked, to that being the number of original park sponsors.

In order to get into the Club without becoming a member, you have to know an existing member who will make ressies for you. But you still have to pay the high price of the meal. I had the Chateaubriand and it was melt in your mouth delicious.
No, I'm not a member either.

Club 33 is the only place in Disneyland that serves liquor during normal operation. For special parties and media events they offer liquor also. Walt never saw the place opened, he died five months before operations began. It is located on 33 Royal St.

You are also given a special one day ticket to the park for visiting the Club.

Yes... and if you're there while Metallica's James Hetfield is, you'll find that he's drinking Jaeger with his eggs

my friend had signed up for the waiting list and never recieved her information packet, so after some checking the girl inside came out and told her to expect her packet soon. I asked to take a pic with the club 33 girl and she said ok, and said we could go inside and take it....

it was pretty exciting. i'll post the pic

Hidden in the park is a secret club / restaurant

Very hard to get into, has anyone heard of this or been inside?:zipit:

Not so secret.....It is a Private Membership club. I just celebrated my birthday there on Wed 1/30, thanks to a very kind and generous friend. It is a beautiful place, rich with history and the service is impeccable. The food was as good as any I have had in any fine restaurant, nothing to write home about. The dessert buffet WAS great however and we enjoyed that very much. My husband ordered his steak med rare and it came med well, and he found several wilted and black lettuce leaves in his salad. That should not be acceptable with what you are paying for the meal there. My Three Pasta dish was excellent however. We enjoyed our visit and plan on doing another birthday there next year, hopefully. We did come away with polo shirts and pins, as well as Mouse ears and a baseball cap.

I enjoyed the history and decor of the place much more than the food. I love any Disney history and this was chock full! It is a wonderfully quiet and peaceful place amongst the noise and loud music of NOS. We thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to our return visit!:)

The reason for the 33 is that is the address between 29 and 31 on that side of the street, not the legends you will hear about elsewhere.

I have also seen a downtrend in the attire some wear there...Tee shirts and shorts as opposed to nice slacks and polo shirts. There used to be a MUCH stricter dress code, but it has loosened up to the point that it should be changed to less "scruffy" and a little more nice. I did not like to see shorts and tees in there. It just does not fit the atmosphere and ambience of a fine dining restaurant. You would never go to Napa Rose dressed that way, nor any other 5 star restaurant, so why dress that way for Club 33? We wore business casual to our lunch and felt comfortable in the surroundings with how we were dressed.

You do NOT pay for Park admission if you have reservations at Club 33. Park admission is included in your day at Disneyland. While Club 33 is an expensive meal by any standards, you will pay as much or more at any fine restaurant and NOT get the Park Pass to go along with your meal! If you love DL, and who doesn't, then THAT is a treat in itself!

Ever looked at the "33" with your head tilted to the right?

Have you ever seen that the 33 turned to the left, or counterclockwise, resembles an "mm" character?

Anywho, my wife's boss was just there over the Christmas break (he's got corporate membership)... and he's found out that we're avid fans, so he may try and get us inside someday...

Maybe this March!:sohappy:
