We stayed at the Poly and the day we left it poured all morning long, and the wind was so bad. With the surroundings and the weather it was like being in a tropical depression.
that's how it was the last night with the tornado in the area. We thought there had to be a tropical storm somewhere close.

I don't. Please share with us.
OK...here's the outline...but it gets very twisted in there...so let me explain a little afterwards...

Based on the 19th century legend of Sweeney Todd and the hit Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Sweeney Todd a.k.a Benjamin Barker returns to London after being sent away by Judge Turpin with the help of a sailor, Anthony Hope. He opens a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop were she sells "the worst pies in London." With the help of Mrs. Lovett, Todd tries to rid of all the people who have ever done him wrong and hopes to be reunited with his daughter, Joanna, who is now Judge Turpin's ward.

Ok...now, the rest of what I remember is quite fuzzy and I can't find a really good explaination anywhere that's not eons long! (Or tells the whole plot!)

Basically, Sweeny Todd has this barber shop and kills the people who did him wrong by shaving them (that's why you see the razor in the trailer). After he slits their throats...his chair bends backwards to send them down to Mrs. Lovett, who's "Worst Pies In London" all the sudden become good...and why are they good? B/c they are chopping up the bodies and putting them into the pies.

It's actually very disturbing...

That is very disturbing, but it makes me want to go see it now. That might be bad.

Yeah...it's very disturbing. Imagine how disturbing it was for me, who didn't know what to expect. I had to watch the thing for a class! And it was the first time I'd heard of it.

I'm actually curious to see what this movie will be rated more than anything. B/c it can be done tastefully or disgustingly. I'm hoping for tasteful...at least as tasteful as you can get for this topic. :lookaroun

I think it was R at first, but then they changed it to PG-13...I'm not positive though.

Yep...that's the story. It's very wierd. To think, someone actually wrote this! And made a play out of it!?

No prob. Glad it helped. I think a lot of people who go just b/c it's Johnny Depp are going to be very surprised by this movie. Esp. if they go into it with no idea of what the darn things about.

Can you imagine all of the preteens flocking to see this movie just for Depp? That is, if it isn't rated R.
