I spent a full day at Sea World on July 19. Here are some observations from our day:

1. Manta was posted 2-hour wait at 9:15 am, but turned out to be only 45 min wait for us. Definitely a must-do attraction for those not so queasy about coasters!

2. We did the Behind the Scenes 90-min tour because we were lured by getting to touch a penguin. That was definitely the highlight of the tour, but lasted only about 15 seconds or so out of the 90 min. It was an educational tour, but you don't really get to see too much more than in the park. Though, our tour guide was very informative and answered a lot of questions.

3. Their water and sodas are $3, so be sure to bring your own if you can!

4. Believe isn't as great as it used to be. We saw it 3 years ago, several times, and they did a lot more stunts in the water with the whales. Now, this may be just the show that we saw that was different, but just an observation. I still love the music and seeing the whales, though.

5. Blue Horizons is my personal favorite. Everyone was on their A-game on Saturday, but the section involving the false killer whales was omitted. There was no vulture flying either. (Not sure why that is...) The music, costumes, divers, dolphins, birds... It's just such a great show!!

6. Pets Ahoy is another of my favs, but it did fill up 20-25 min before showtime due to the small size of the theatre, so be sure to get there early.

7. If you like all of the shows at Sea World, Sea Lions Tonite is a great parody show. It's a very cute and funny show. Be sure to get there early to see the mime.

8. Shamu Rocks is fun, but was only about 20 min and featured a rock concert type atmosphere with very few original tricks with the whales. I was hoping for a bit more creativity in the show with the whales. The costumes, lighting and music were great, however.

We used to have annual passes to Sea World, so I know for a fact that every show is different, depending on the trainers and animals they use for that day.

They do have a lot of newer killer whales, so maybe thy didnt do some sections as the behaviors had yet to be learned by the younger killer whales. or the whale that did those wasn't feeling up to it earlier.

I agree, it was probably something like that. Yeah, you just never know with animals - every show I've ever seen has been different, which brings a little excitement to it, because you never know what you're going to get.

I am also going to Sea World next time we go. We also live in Ohio, not too far from the old Sea World - and it is sad it is no longer here.
