Scuba Mickey

Just saw a YouTube video of Mickey at the Coral Reef at the Living Seas. He's underwater in scuba gear. The video was dated to 1993. Does anyone know if he is still open-water certified? Does Mickey make this kind of appearance anymore and, if so, when?

Scuba Mickey still makes appearance for private events in the Living Seas vip lounge. We looked at having him swim by for our wedding reception but he was just too pricey.

Apparently Mickey dives at least once a month to keep his certification up to date.

Hi there, just out of interest if you dont mind me asking, who did you have to contact to try and arrange him to dive for your wedding and how much (approx) was you quote?

I hope you dont mind me asking but I would be very grateful as i have been looking for details on this for sooooooo long!

We had the information through Disney's Fairytale Weddings, so they would have arranged it through the character event department (DCE) for us. I honestly don't remember the exact price because once we saw it scuba Mickey was taken out of consideration immediately. I believe it was around $3,500 for him to swim by. That cost would be on top of the cost to rent the location and food. When you reserve a private space through the private events department there is a minimum amount that you must spend on food. They do an amazing job with their events though so they are worth every penny for a once in a lifetime experience. Our wedding was wonderful and if we had it to do over again we wouldn't change a thing!
