Has anyone ever done the Scuba Diving at the Living Seas? Is it worth it? I was looking at the description and it is a 3 hour tour but only 30 minutes of diving time?

Yeah, I think you have to be a certified diver, though, correct me if I'm wrong. If I could scuba dive, I would do it. :)

I had my GF do the dive as a bday present, and she ab so lute ly loved it!!!! I would have to say it was definately worth it even though its only 30 min of dive time. And yes you have to be a certified diver to go.

i'm a guessing the format is similar to the Aqua Seas Tour that I took last year. The 3 hour tour includes a tour of The Living Seas pavilion including some of the back stage area where they do research on various sealife including the dolphins, and a little video presentation about TLS's environmental mission. It also gives you time to change into and out of a wet suit, and time to get everyone a little familiar with the tank environment and a quick intro to your divemasters and some of the animals you will encounter, etc.

The experience is pretty unique at Disneyworld. This is one of the few ways you can become part of the show on stage. While you dive, you will be on stage for all the other guests to see, wave to, and interact with. Some people even spent their whole 30 mintues playing with their children through the glass of the observation deck. If you are interested, I would highly recommend Dive Quest, or the Aqua Seas Tour if you are not scuba certified.

In Agreement

I would have to agree with everyone who has posted on this subject. I have done the DiveQuest Dive everytime I go to DW. They give an extensive but fun tour of the facility behind the Living Seas, showing things such as where they create their own Salt Water for the Tanks and lots of fun facts. (If you are going to do it I dont want to ruin the little surprises.)
You can only bring your own bathing suit and possibly your own mask as they dont want anyone to use their own equipment in their tank. They supply everything to you. Masks, Fins, tanks, and Dive Shorty. They film you during the dive which you can purchase after you watch it at the end of the Tour, where they give you a Certificate of completion, Complimentary T-shirt, Pins Refreshments and other fun things as you watch a conservation movie when you are finished Diving. Most of the money gained from Dive Quest goes to this Conservation Fund, such as the Video which is approx. 17-20 dollars if memory serves.
I could go into complete detail if you really want to know EXACTLY minute by minute what you get to do while you are there if you dont want any surprises.
Let me know :)

My boyfriend and I have done it as well and we loved it!!! We also thought buying the video was well worth it because now whenever we miss Disney we watch it and remember the good time we had on that trip. I think it was $140/pp. We are planning to do it again in August. You do have to be a certified diver but you don't even have to be that good. I think the tank is only 25ft deep and the animals are nothing to be scared of. I am by far quite a chicken when it comes to these things and after a few minutes I fell in love with the experience. It's also cool going through the Living Seas with wetsuits on and having everyone look at you and whisper, as well as waving at people through the windows :)

The tank is large enough for the epcot ball to fit into with room to spare.
Sea creatures include turtles, brown sharks, and people watching from the Living Seas:)

When I went down several years ago it was awesome. It was a really good learning experience for my brother and I beacuse we had not done a salt water dive before, so it was a good introduction to the salt water. It was really cool to wave at the people. I'd like to do it again. :D

I went diving at the living seas twice and it is totally worth it. You had to be a certified diver before but I think they may have changed the rules.
