Screens

I know it isn't particularly in keeping with the tradition of MK etc but surely it is time they put some big screens next to the castle, even ones that come up when a show is on but go down afterwards so it doesn't affect the castle too much.

We went tonight to watch the fireworks, frozen show etc. It was chaos with people putting kids on their shoulders, adults plonking themselves in front of kids without a second thought for anyone else, selfie sticks in the way, iPads in the way, people reserving spaces with towels - no joke.

Obviously it's a hugely busy time of the year but my personal opinion is that screens would solve the issue of not being able to see the stage properly.

And you will have the same issue with screens. People have just become rude and entitled.

Personally, I think those selfie sticks should be banned. Really, people, you wanna spend your time in WDW taking pictures of yourself with a camera on a stick? And if we are banning selfie sticks, let's add iPads to the list - at least for the fireworks...

Screens won't stop, or even slow down, idiots and all around self-centered people.
"Sweetie, hop on my shoulders and I'll hold you up so you can see the big video screen better. Who cares if there are others behind us that won't be able to see, it's all about us. Get some crappy photos with the iPad while you are up there."

A well placed squirt gun and a well trained user can really ruin the selfie-stick users day. "Revenge is a dish best served cold."
Entitled, rude losers!

Umm, never thought of a squirt gun... "Was that your expensive, obtrusive [insert name of electronic device here] I just got with my squirt gun. So sorry, I was trying to cool my child off..." :p

I'd Rather Photobomb those mooks...By the time they bring the stick down to see the photo the Photobomber has made a mad dash already...

Perhaps someone should tell them that a Photopass photographer will be more than happy, if asked NICELY, to take that picture for you using your own camera...and you will have a much better photo...

Oh my heaven's no that's WAY To difficult for them..

I am for banning anything that lights up and can annoy me during a magical performance of Wishes or any show.

It still puzzles me that people want terrible, shaky video from a phone of a performance that is professionally recorded on Youtube. People use low end equipment and watch it through their phone or tablet instead of enjoying the show. I wouldn't care what people do, but I happens to annoy me and everyone near them.

Don't they realize their silly phone or camera flash taking a picture of the castle or fireworks is doing NOTHING from that distance? There is almost nothing more worthless than blurry, dark pictures of fireworks.

Quite honestly, I have never understood taking pictures and video of parades, fireworks, the castle show or just pics of the park and it's components by themselves anyway. The existing, professional ones are usually better than what you will take and there's millions of them on the internet anyway. Pics of family at the park...cool, understandable and a treasure- but not at the expense of others.
I laugh every time I see folks looking at an I-pad screen or a phone during a parade or fireworks when they'd probably enjoy looking at the real thing (much bigger and grander) instead. If you need to see marginal home video of it, just search it out online. And please don't give me the "I take great pictures and am a bit of a shutterbug" thing. I've been in the video biz for 35 years and I can assure you there is better stuff 'out there'.

Well said. Same goes for taking pictures inside attractions. Not only are the pictures awful, they are ruined with flash and annoy the guests riding along.

I really, really, really do not understand the taking pictures with an ipad. How is that comfortable, or practical, or normal? Is it because they want people to know they have an ipad? I hate lugging around my canon, let alone a giant tablet. And if you have an ipad then I'm sure you afford a phone with a camera. It's nutso!

What about just a simple, nice announcement prior to the show starting?

"For the enjoyment of all our guests, please do not obstruct the view of others standing behind you. Thank you."
"Por favor, no idiotas con ipados obnoxiousos. Gracias."

Sorry if that will offend someone, but anybody looks stupid using an iPad for pictures.
