hi all  !

I am currently in the process of building my new website, and was wondering if you could help me out by specifying your screen resolution? I am trying to figure out what the majority of people have, and if my site is too big for it.

Thanks in advance! :D :sohappy: I really appreciate it! :)

Golden rule with screen res for web is to make things look as they should at 800x600, and try to make it look acceptable at anything larger. :) The majority of people are still running 800x600 as that tends to be the standard resolution on any new machine that ships (even those that are capable of much higher).

Uh oh

Back to the drawing board for me! :hammer: Does anyone know a good program that could reduce all my images in size by 50%? as that is pretty much all of what my site consists of at the moment.

Thanks for the advice Steve :sohappy:

I think I've seen pen caps that are larger than your desktop icons....

Al,

I agree with Steve. The standard pretty much is 800 x 600 for web sites.

If placement of items is paramount, then create a table with a width of about 750 or so (giving room for scrollbars and a little border) and centre it.
