Screamscape Rumor for IoA....

Maybe u can confirm this Phenix? :

Screamscape.com reports:

Nearly three months since our last rumor about this, but another source wrote in to say that there are whispers of building an adult version of the Pteradon Flyers (B&M Flyer?) possibly to be themed and built inside the large damaged steel structure of the enormous aviary building as seen in the third film. All things considered, this would be a great way to “theme” a standard outdoor coaster ride as well as really taking advantage of the new Flying coaster concept by not only giving you near-miss rushes towards the ground but also at the various sharp bits of the cage walls all around you. Now how about we launch this ride like Rock ‘n Roller Coaster to get the right speed to fly around in this giant steel spaghetti bowl track layout?

There is a basis of truth to it, but most of it is speculation. Not much there to confirm or deny I think.

But that is a cool ride idea... :zipit:

So your basically saying it will possibly be a themed (and maybe indoor) roller coaster or thrill ride..... im guessing the speculation part involves the B&M flyer and the bird aviary.....

BTW, since u seem well informed on this topic, is it scheduled to open in 2003? and will it be in Jurassic Park for sure? thanks

Exactly.

There is this large chunk of land behind Jurassic Park that can house a big thrill ride and it will be open in 2003. Note that I didn't say *when* in 2003. All I can say is that to be safe I wouldn't plan my vacation around any announced opening date.

In my opinion (and I LOVE ROLLERCOASTERS) IOA should concentrate on another E-ticket attraction that isn't the "normal rollercoaster" I liked the Jeep Adventure idea (the chase scene would've been AWESOME with the T-REX running after you!)...something fun that non-rollercoaster-fans can enjoy. My mother hated IOA because she doesn't really like thrill rides but she LOVED SPIDERMAN. It's a great ride, good thrill, and EVERYONE can ride. Rollercoasters (in my opinion) are a necessity to any park, nowadays, but IOA already has 4 (if you include the unicorn)...Time for something "STATE OF THE ART" like Spidey!!!

It is also time for something that won't break the bank. I'd love to see the Jeep Adventure, but they would probably go in (even more) debt to build it. There are a lot of ideas up in the air right now, some of these are just as good as the Jeep Adventure, and can be done much more inexpensively. Just wait and see.

How do you know all of this?

Two of my closest friends work in management. There is another, but I refuse to give any hint of who they are for fear of their jobs.

And some of it is just common sense. Vivendi Universal is in debt to the tune of 17 billion euros. They are going to build the best thing they can for the money, but they are not going to have an insane amount of money to work with. I will be suprised if the final attraction even costs half as much as Spiderman (which cost $70 million, BTW) did.

Are you sure that you're two friends in management aren't YOURSELF and YOU???

Although it sounds like it may be a good coaster if built, it sounds kind of repetivive with teradactle flyers right next door, although I wouldn't mind if the scrap the scorpion king coaster and keep King Kong to spend their money on this.

well, your in the minority here because according the BO earnings the mummy franchise is wildly popular!

i do not know exactly what is going on but i have a feeling that kong is either going to receive a major overhaul or he is on the way out. for some odd reason i only see a mummy attraction as a water based ride a la river adventure across the way.

Let's put it this way, Kong ain't management's favorite ride. The ride has become a maintenance nightmare, and is seemingly costing more and more by the day to run. It is reportedly an astronomical figure. You've got to give Universal credit for biting the bullet for this long until something can be done. If it were Disney, they would have closed it a long time ago (cough, 20,000 Leagues, cough).

oh geez.. hey pheneix, one thing about sources is..

you either give them out, or you keep em quiet. By admitting you have inside sources (and others contemplating that you are one) you are making it harder for those of us that need that info, to get it, since there is someone out there openly saying they know more than they need to and are blabbing out how they got it, but not saying all of it.

You are absolutely right. But for the record, if I tell you what my sources are, consider that as reliable as a Screamscape rumor. Yeah, I know I just opened myself up to a crapload of credibility speculation, but that is what half of covering your does, right? :)

But I am really not posting anything that hasn't already been out on the web (and the Kong/operating cost thing has been out since before it closed for HHN last year), or I am at the most merely correcting the crazy stuff that is running around on the net. I could have just as easily said "hey, *&%*&%% is adding *&^%&^$&$ to *)&^*&%&% in **%^%&^$ and it is going to *&%^%&^%&^!"

no.. what you are doing is giving a sense of legitimacy to a rumor. By saying that you have official info, but aren't revealing your sources (what do you think your manager friends are?) you are basically (in the eyes of the people) making it sound like you are universals rep, when from what I gather, you are nothing more than a speculator. This is why I don't post rumors UNLESS I have received official confirmation... I know a lot more than I post, and if I were to post it, people would instantly think I'm the official word of the theme parks. But I'm not.. I'm merely a worker with a helluva lot more access than meets the eye.
