i know scooter/evc rentals are available at the parks in limited numbers but can anyone tell me if they offer them at the resorts or can we arrange for an orlando rental company to have one waiting for us at our resort? or if we get to the park (mk the sunday of memorial day weekend) at opening what you think our chances are of getting one? we'll only need it the one day in the park. any thoughts/help/experiences? we're staying at saratoga springs.

The resorts generally have a few "courtesy" wheelchairs that you can borrow if they're available but there's no guarantee of that. The ECVs are at the parks. Getting from the resorts to the parks is something you have to handle if you're going to depend on the ECVs Disney rents. My aunt & mom use an outside company, Walker Mobility, to rent ECVs when they go down. When you reserve with them they will have the cart at your resort at Bell Services waiting for you when you arrive. When it's check-out time you just return it to Bell Services and they come back to pick it up. While at Disney if you have any problems at all you can give them a call and they are super-fast to get things rolling again (no pun intended). We used this same company when Chandler was in a wheelchair this past November. We called them from the hub in the MK to arrange the chair and they called me back within 15 minutes to let me know it was waiting for us at our resort. Love Walker Mobility!

My grandparents also used an outside company. I forgot which one, you can find plenty on the webz. Its cheaper than the ones in the parks and you get to use them at the resorts. We set it all up before we got to the resorts and they were waiting for us when we checked in.

fabulous. thanks everybody. i've never had to make those kind of arrangements before and you always wonder what kind of service you'll get dealing with different companies when so many just want a piece of the disney income but give you bad service. but my dad is coming to the parks for one day while they're here and even though he's the type who still works two jobs despite his age (i'm a grandmother if that tells you anything lol) but he's had medical problems that just don't let him do that kind of walking and i don't want to risk not having something for him. i think he'd refuse a wheelchair and kill himself trying to walk the park. this is his first and possibly his only trip with my granddaughter so i'm stressing over it going smoothly. thanks again. i love these boards!
