Currently indecisive about which one to go to, as I haven't been to either in about 10 years (!), so I ask you, WDW Magic community, which one should be my choice?

I understand the milk shakes are phenomenal at both :)

Both are great imo. Sci Fi has really great theming and fun atmosphere. The last time we ate there the food was not bad at all. Actually what each of us ordered was quite good. It's certainly not on the level of TS restaurants at Epcot, but if you've never been there, I do recommend it. But Primetime is fun and has a great atmosphere as well. I say do both! Maybe look at the menus and do lunch or dinner at the one that has the most appealing selections and then do a light snack or dessert or something at the other.

I love SciFi.....the low lights, stars, & cars-magical!!! The food is ok but the milkshakes are awesome!

The 50s food & atmosphere just wasn't for me.....the sitcoms & waitstaff didn't hold my attention like SciFi.

Very interesting responses. Thanks everyone. I'd actually like to find a way to fit both in somehow!

I think I'd like Sci-Fi more, but I'm bringing my parents, who both grew up in the 50s. Figured it would be a neat time for them.

But then again,... Hollywood Brown Derby! Who knew DHS had so many underrated places to eat?

Thinking back, 50s was the most satisfying meal I had. We really cleaned up and that's rare. And we had lunch at Mama's so we weren't exactly starving. I wouldn't describe it as outstanding, best meatloaf ever (can't beat homemade). It's just comfort food that really hits the spot.

I love going to Sci-Fi. It's just a great atmosphere that to me seems so unique. I love watching the movie clips while I eating in the older styled cars. Too fun & I think the food is pretty good as well.

I think 50s depends on your CM that is serving your table and how accepting your family is to play along. Our family liked to be bad on purpose to play along with the theme, but others guests were obviously hungry, tired and not into the playful nature
of the wait staff. If your family will play along, it will be fun. I also feel the food is better than Sci Fi. Sci fi had more of a fast food menu versus Sunday dinner at grandma's at 50s

Love the atmosphere at the Scifi. Tend to agree food might be better at the 50's but really don't like getting hassled while I eat. I know it's all in fun but not for me. When you are called for your car at Scifi and you round that fence, it's really cool how it's set up.

We went to 50's 2x last year on our trip and both were amazing, the CM's were fantastic and a lot of fun. They can make or break your experience and the food is pretty good, not great but we go for the atmosphere most of all and well hubby goes for the fries chicken.

I've not been to both so I don't know why I'm chipping in but!!.....

I go to the Sci-Fi every trip, we love the atmosphere and enjoy the movie clips, I hate dining out but here it's entertaining. It's a bit dark but I like that, I can shove lots of food in my mouth without being seen!

Personally I wouldn't do the 50s Prime Time, I'm a bit shy and would not appreciate all the antics, I would love to try the food though. But this is one place I would never go.

I like the atmosphere of Sci Fi but the food isn't anything great. And if you're more than a party of 2 - it's difficult to communicate in the cars.

50's food is far better and I enjoy being able to see my food!

I prefer Sci-Fi. Last time we were there the food seemed much better than the times before. I'm one of those people who just doesn't enjoy the whole "Mom" bugging me while I eat routine. If we had kids, we would probably love it. But since it's just me and hubby, we didn't have that much fun with it. It's cute, and I certainly understand why others find it fun. Maybe I was just one of those hot and tired folks the day I went.
