Well my son is a bit husky as well, but nothing outrageous. Of course I sat with my husband is also tall and not real large, but still a bigger man and my son sat with his with who is short and smaller.

I'm 6'3"...I have no problems in the cars....they're really no different than a diner booth except the table doesn't move. My suggestion to you would be (and this is part of their Disney magic/ customer service), is to go into the restaurant and explain your concerns...I'm sure they will let you in to see the cars in person. If you think everyone will fit, maybe you can go later in the trip or save it for your next visit. The food is not the reason everyone goes...it's the atmosphere (although the Reuben sandwich is good!)
Smiley, I actually thought of this last night, if they'll let me take a look inside. If I think we'll all fit comfortably, see if we can get a reservation later in the week or it can be a great excuse to book another trip lol. The main reason for this restaurant was for the theming, I do like a good Reuben sandwich lol Thanks for the info.

I think they will have car seating for those with ADRs, but there's no requirement that you use one. I've had many ADRs there where I've requested a table, and been seated with no problem.

The only thing I didn't like about the car seating at Sci-Fi is that you have your backs turned to the others in your party. For example, we went with 3 members in our party - me, my son and my husband. My son and I sat in the first row of the car, and my husband sat in the second. He said that he was kind of bummed that he had to stare at the back of our heads during the meal instead of our faces...lol It was kind of hard to carry on a conversation because I had to keep turning around to talk to him. It almost felt like he was sitting at another table. It was a cool experience, but I wouldn't want to sit in a car again.
You don't even have to go into the restaurant, they have one of the cars outside, so they can sit in and see if it's comfortable. Although I'm not certain whether that car has the tables installed or not.

One of our favorites ! We usually have six in our party with three of us over six feet tall. The seating works. Sci Fi is
an awesome experience and the food is pretty darn good too. Try one of their signature cocktails with the glowing ice cubes !

Oh my goodness I completely forgot about the car out in front of the restaurant. I'm not sure if the tables are in that car tho? We'll check it out in the beginning of our trip.! Thank you!

Oh well. We always have an ADR and did experience a table seating one year.
No complaints. We enjoyed the experience very, very much.
We'll book it again in 2 weeks. Whatever happens, happens.
We're there. That's good enough for us.
