Sci-Fi dine-in no longer serving handmade milkshakes, premade instead

Premix is going to be significantly cheaper. Lower inventory costs, lower overhead for storing the inventory onsite, lower waste.
Pre mix / pre prepared is fast food efficiency. Don’t think that the tomatoes are sliced in the open kitchen area of BK. It comes from the warehouse pre sliced. Last thing a BK location needs is a crew member getting hurt slicing tomatoes ( workers comp injury eats into store profits )

I had my first meal at sci-fi the same weekend this article was written. My oreo shake took a while to arrive, came in a glass, and wasn’t hard as a rock so I don’t think I got a premade frozen shake. I didn’t think the shake was very good though so I dunno

We have pre-made shakes available in our convenance stores. They are stored frozen solid and have a liquification machine and are pretty good.

Y’all need to get over yourselves. Kids don’t care how they make milkshakes. They just want something sweet. Eh also understand that Disney is a business and that this is good. They wouldn’t be able to afford to run the restaurant if they had to slowly make each milkshake one at a time. Not to mention the obvious safety issues having so many mixers plugged in.
So, true with that kind of antiquated business model, how could a restaurant expect to stay in business. I mean you would figure it could only run a few months like that before going belly up. So let's see here SciFi opened in.......1991.
