Turbogames: 150 hours sounds like a lot but its really nothing esp. if you work for an organization like the Boys and Girls club. I volunteer at the VA and i get in like 16 hours/ month. Is the 150 hours for honor society or something?

Yes Turbo... I have heard a loty of good things about Cardinal Mooney High...... Mostly about football teams....I am sure that it is a great school academically also....Have a great summer and remember that what you do for others is most important....No one is ever remembered for what they took....only what they gave..... give your time....and also...no one reaches higher than when they reach down to help another up....There is no honor in being better than anohter person... only in being a better person.... you will not grow up to be somebody special unless you believe that you are ALREADY someone special now.....and that goes for you too alee:D

The 100 hours is required by the school because it is a private catholic school. I actually dont mind volunteering sometimes it can be fun because I get to play Billiards (pool) with some of the kids. And I get to talk to some of the counselors who can be pretty funny. Thanks for the advice coronado.

Yup, I love community service. I work at the local Veterans Administration. Would you all look at my post in digital media and photos, "strange request", esp those of you who live in florida. I need pictures of floridian type things with whom I work. It explains it all there. ttfn

Hey, Coronado, we're not ALL kids out here...I teach elementary music in New York state - it's the second-best job in the world (the best job, of course, would be working at Disney!) My husband also teaches (instrumental music). Kids are GREAT, aren't they? - not to get mushy, but teaching really makes a difference in kids' lives. Congratulations on 22 years!:sohappy: My husband has 24 years in (I, of course, was a child bride and am WAY behind him:D )

Teachers do make a huge difference..but I've only had a handful of teachers that I really learned from--and fyi two of them were music teachers.

The teacher who made the most difference in my high school years was my band director. I'm really gonna miss him when I'm at college next year.

I'm not sure exactly what MCBA is but since it doesn't sound familiar probably not.

I am glad that you all can appreciate your teachers....figmentmom I appreciate you too and your dedication to teaching.... I never learned to play a musical instrument..... but I sure like to listen:lol: Our biggggest reward is the success of the student....

A lot of people think that this is the Computer Age, or the Information Age..... but it is not..... It is the Service Age....now you can service my Toyota, or service my air conditioner, or serve the needs of the sick in a hospital.... or you can serve it my way on a sesame seed bun.....I'm not saying working at McD's is a bad job (I worked there once).... but it is just that a JOB....stay in school and find a CAREER you can love.....then you won't have to work.... it will be day after day of fun!......remember the difference between a job and a career is spelled.... MONEY....
