That's right, according to FLand CMs and MiceChat's David "Darkbeer" Michael, the revamped Walkthrough will reopen this Wednesday 11/26, just in time for Thanksgiving.

I plan on being there, but don't expect pics from me because I lost my camera transfer cable.:brick::brick::)

It would be nice, I heard that they are really trying to rush this through before the Holidays really kick in, I hope they don't rush it too much, do it right, even if it takes a little bit longer.

Well, I heard that Marketing were practically forcing WDI to have the walkthrough done by 11/21, so I'm glad that they didn't take Marketing's crap as usual and did this right.

It's already several weeks late in opening, so I don't think they've been rushing enough to compromise the quality. This is a Tony Baxter project, so I'm sure he's been very picky about making it perfect, which is why it's late by a few weeks. They've been working on this for over a year, so it should be really good.

It will be nice to have this attraction back open again, and in it's original 1950's version no less!

The Walkthrough did open last night a half an hour late at 5:30 PM. There were around 200 people waiting in line. The allowed chunks of 10-15 people through every 10 min. Worked pretty efficiently.

I was able to pop into the Park this morning before the family events took over for the afternoon, and I had a leisurely visit to the Castle Walkthrough. I was very impressed!

This is the type of attraction experience that pictures aren't going to do justice to. You just have to see it for yourself. It's dark and moody and all designed to be viewed with the human eye rather than the camera lense, so any attempt to capture it digitally won't do it much justice regardless of the talents of the photographer. The scenes all have moving parts and digital effects that play out, or sometimes surprise the viewer, and very little of it will come across on camera.

Plus, there's the little details like the hanging tapestries and fabrics and such that aren't showing up in the dimly lit pictures I've seen online. And the sound and music and lighting all play up the visuals of the display scenes themselves. The colors and the experience overall is still firmly grounded in the 1950's, but then there's this extremely impressive overlay of 21st century technology applied with lots of TLC and passion for Disneyland history by Tony Baxter's team, and the end result is nothing short of stunning for the Disneyland fan! :)

This is exactly the little, charming Walt-era diversion that makes Disneyland so unique in all the world. No other Disney park could pull this off. Paris has the dragon animatronic in the dungeon, Tokyo had that winding and impressive Black Cauldron walkthrough, and Disneyland has this thoroughly refreshed and updated original walkthrough.

It's just fantastic, and done so beautifully and lovingly, that it really is a new gem in Disneyland's crown of winning attractions. Bravo! :sohappy:

Make sure you check out this Fantasyland attraction on your next visit!

I agree that it was very well done, I wasn't able to experience the previous incarnations of the walkthrough (as I was too young), but I saw enough in the YouTube video and the Special Edition Sleeping Beauty special feature.

I agree that it is very detailed and there are portions that you might miss if you rush through. If you go through this attraction, make sure to take your time and take in all the details, especially in the Corridor of Goons.

Mint Crocodile has just posted a rather excellent video of the new Walkthrough on YouTube. Since it is so dark, and so much of the experience is digital special effects seen inside the displays, this video is probably going to be about as good as we'll get when it comes to trying to capture this attraction on camera. Still, it gives you a reasonable idea of how neat this attraction turned out.

Thanks Mint Crocodile! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKAsxTSaygs

I was there! I was one of those waiting in line. The line moved very quickly, And it is kinda claustrophobic, and a bit hard to take pics with people shoving to get thru. I did take several pics that night, and Tony Baxter was there. I saw him standing about 3 feet from me, but I am much too shy to ask for a pic. He didnt have a nametag or lanyard, so I figured he didnt want to be bothered.
Overall, beautifully done, and with excellent special effects. The books are hand painted, and the artwork is beautiful too.

Excellent photos!! Thanks for sharing!! I can't wait to go! My girlfriend has never been to Disneyland during the holiday season, so I'm really hoping we'll be able to make a trip this year.

Btw, if you ever have an opportunity to walk up to Tony Baxter, I'd recommend going ahead and doing it. I remember back when Splash Mt first opened, Tony Baxter and a bunch of other Disney executives were there and I walked up to all of them and chatted with them. I still have my autographed DL guidebook from that day, which was signed by all of them. Tony Baxter, in particular, seemed very genuinely interested in talking to me, and I didn't get the sense that he was just being polite. I remember also being very impressed with Richard Nunis and Marty Sklar.
