Interesting I could see it happening because Australia is the one part of the world it would make sense to have a park. Disney was the Americas, Europe, and Asia covered already. A park here would seem to make sense.

Shanghai always seemed like a silly place to expand, as there are already two parks in the Asia area.

And with so much money that could be spent on other areas in the world, dropping cash there always seemed like a ridiculous plan.

I think the article is intended to lend verification to the idea that Disney was at least seriously looking at Australia. I'm sure Alain doesn't expect them to start on one any time soon. Great article, though!

It's exactly that, i don't intend Disney to build a park in Australia, i just wanted to show that they had really envisioned to build a park there, even if finally they will not do it.

Glad you liked the article.

I can't see there ever being a Disney in Australia. The entire population of the continent is almost equal to the state of Florida. It would be too costly to visit Australia as a tourist just to see Disney.

Yeah, and I'm guessing that's the reason nothing's happened yet. But what if Australia were looking to help with a large amount of the cost, expecting that it would bring in NEW tourists? Obviously it's just a speculation, and even then it would be a gamble for the Australian Government, but it's a notion
