Just wondering, who all has a WDW change jar or bucket? we have 32 days left and just dropped a $100 bill into our change bottle. About a week before we go we will take our bottle to one of those change counters. That will be our spendeing money on drinks, tips and food outside the park.

I usually trade some the cash I've saved for my upcoming trip for Disney Dollars. I don't trade all of my cash, but a large chunk of it. It helps when you know that you can't spend that money anywhere but disney. I always keep everything in an envelope and throw a few bucks in it every other day.

That is a good idea. My father asks every year what he can give my wife, my daughter or myself for Christmas. We always say Disney dollars for our trip. He has given us Amex gift checks instead a few times as he is afraid if for some reason we can't go. The issue with tha is you pay a fee for the Amex ones but Disney dollars, no fee and you can also turn them back in for cash at the Disney store if it came down to it.

I have a coin rolling machine that I got for Christmas in 2004, and it works great. I was able to save over $80.00 dollars in about 5 months, for our trip in June 2005. I used the money to buy the family Ice Cream at the parks every day, and snack money on the drive down a back. I was able to save almost a roll of each coin every month. A few days before our trip I went to the Credit Union and traded all my coin rolls for good old folding money.
We also set money aside in savings for our trips and I did the Ebay selling and raised several hundred dollars also.

check with your banks...our credit union now has one of those coin machines in the lobby...but you don't lose any money on it. it just makes it easier for the cashiers I guess...giving them the little receipt that tells them how much money we cashed in. My girls always count it out before hand (but they are young and that is fun to them) and we've never had a problem w/it being short.
