Saving $$ the first night off-site

We have reservations of Pop for next Saturday, and my husband decided he didn't want to arrive late that night and miss a day. We decided to leave a day earlier to drive down so we are in Disney Saturday morning.

Disney hotels let you leave your stuff there and even check you in if your room is ready, so we figure we'll spend the night and wake up where we need to be.

I used Hotwire and got a 2 1/2* Hampton Inn in Lake Buena Vista for $44/night, with a free *hot* breakfast. The hotel is highly rated in various travel reviews, so I just wanted anyone thinking about doing this to have a benchmark of the cost we paid.

It's a GREAT idea, and Hampton Inn is the Hotel of choice for me when I travel for work - which is a LOT!

That way you can get up, have a nice breakfast and get over to Pop Century to check in before the parks open!

Leave your bags right in the car if your room is not ready and jump on the POP shuttle to the parks!

They will give you a number to call back in the afternoon to find out your room number. When you get back from the park, you can park closer to your room and unload.

A MUCH better way to spend your first day instead of losing it to traveling!!!

HAVE FUN!!!

P.S. Compared to lots of other hotels in that area, your $44 rate is a STEAL!!! ENJOY!

I'm glad you say Hampton is a good choice--I didn't know what I was getting until I paid for it (Hotwire rules). I couldn't touch a resort for anywhere near $44 anywhere else, and I figure the hot breakfast for two is worth $10-15 with tip, plus we don't have to drive to breakfast and wait in lines! :)

Mickey, here we come!
