Didn't they already ruin it with the addition of the hat?

Nope, can't blame the hat for this one. Actually the hat is placed dead centre on the nose and with google maps you can see that the hidden Mickey is there except for the left ear. That was due to work on the Brown Derby building and has absolutely nothing to do with the hat.

Don't think that Echo Lake is going anywhere.
