Front Lot is based on the glamorous administration areas of Hollywood movie studios from the "golden age" of movies in the 1930s. It serves as the Main Street for the park with shops, dining, and guest relations/park services. Also, the Earffel Tower, the park's icon, is located here. Most of it is housed indoors inside a large Soundstage called Disney Studio 1.

The Production Courtyard is themed as a mix of a Hollywood Studio, sets recreating a Hollywood Street, and an actual Hollywood Street. Not the most cohesive vision for a land. But some decent placemaking. Instead of in the castle park as is traditional, the iconic Partners Statue can be found here.

The Studio Theater which used to house the iconic Cinemagique now houses a Marvel Stunt Show. But this is just a temporary show expected to end mid 2020. The only other attraction in Production Courtyard is the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Most other attractions in this area have been closed by now for future expansions.

Howard Parc (An SAU exclusive project) is the first ever Marvel themed land in a Disney Park. Essentially based on the concept of the Stark Expo, Howard Parc blends the Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D., Early EPCOT, and beautiful gardens all into one land.

Sadly, much of the original project was lost. So, this is mostly guesses for the finer details.

The signature attraction is Avengers Unite! An E-Ticket Kuka Arm Dark Ride/Simulator hybrid. Basically a Marvel version of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. It features the Avengers in a big showdown against the forces of Hydra.

C2WoIKu.jpg

Avengers Motor Stunt Show (Our Best Guess to the project's Intention) is a retheme of the Moteurs... Action! Stunt Show Spectacular. Essentially the same show with a Marvel twist. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle (Again, just a guess) is a shooter dark ride similar to the Buzz Lightyear rides. This same attraction can be found in Hong Kong Disneyland.

Toon Studios is themed to the backlot for where Disney's animated movie stars film their movies. Plenty of meet & greets and family friendly experiences.

The old Animagique Theater now house Mickey and the Magician, a stage show similar to Mickey and the Magical Map, where Mickey sings songs and performs tricks with various Disney characters. Magic Carpets of Aladdin is the same spinner ride as in Florida, but with the theme of filming a scene in the movie. Genie serves as the director and comically calls out directions for the "actors" on the ride. Art of Animation is similar to the version of California Adventure but slightly less cool (It's tough to be less cool than something from era 1 of DCA, yet Studios finds a way). It has a meet and Greet and an Animation Academy. Cars Race Rally is a flat ride in a mini-mini-Radiator Springs. An impressive facade for a flat ride, but still just a flat ride with some rock work around it. Crush Coaster is a spinning rollercoaster themed to Finding Nemo with some added dark ride elements with scenes similar to Seas with Nemo in Florida.

latest

Ratatouille Adventure has a whole courtyard around it. A little slice of fake Paris..in the middle of France. Brilliant. But the French people are notoriously really into French stuff and go crazy for this courtyard. It has the most popular restaurant in the park. Plus the ride which is a trackless dark ride with some simulator elements added in.

Cars Route 66 is coming Summer 2020. It is reusing the end of the old Backlot Tour with some added Cars theming. A slow moving tram ride through some outdoor sets with special effects.

Technically a subland of Toon studios, Toy Story Playland is a collection of flat rides with some fun Toy Story theming and oversized props! Bright, colorful, small, and fun. It was made as a quick and cheap way to add some family friendly attractions to the park. It rides the line between charming and tacky, but it fills a need for the park.

Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin is a Muzik Express Flat Ride. A train goes in a circle. RC Racer is a halfpipe style flat ride. A car goes forwards and then backwards. Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop is a small drop tower flat ride. A car goes up and then slowly comes back down. Overall, a riveting experience.

History of Disney Cruise Line

Disney first got into the cruise line industry in 1985 under CEO Michael Eisner after licensing the Disney brand to Premier Cruise Line. However, in 1993, Premier ended their partnership with Disney after striking a deal with Warner Bros. for access to the Looney Tunes.

In 1994, after failing to strike a deal with industry juggernauts Carnival and Royal Caribbean, Disney decided to announce and design their own cruise ships. In March of 1998, the Disney Magic had her maiden voyage, the first of Disney’s fleet. In August of 1999, the Disney Wonder had her maiden voyage, leading to extreme success for the Disney Cruise Line. Later on, in 2011 the Disney Dream set sail, and in 2012, the Disney Fantasy had her maiden voyage, becoming the largest of the fleet. At the 2017 D23 Expo, Disney announced that three new ships would be joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet. In 2019 at the D23 Expo, it was announced that the Disney Wish would join the fleet in 2022. In the SAU, there are also two other ships, the Disney Celebration and the Disney Celebration.

World Showcase can conceptually trace its roots to 1955, when an International Street was proposed for Disneyland as a themed area that would be located behind eastern Main Street USA. Years later, an internationally themed shopping and dining district was proposed for Walt's original city concept for EPCOT, existing within the central hub of the city surrounding the central Hotel tower. When the city was dropped after Walt's death, the international shopping and dining district was planned to be repurposed into Walt Disney World's second gate in 1972 and took on the name World Showcase. Plans and models showcased in 1974 for World Showcase placed it on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon adjacent to the Transportation and Ticket Center. However, the energy crisis of 1976 and concerns of sinkhole troubles on the proposed site would result in the plans for World Showcase and the Future World Theme Center to be merged into a single park that would be placed further south on the property. By 1977, Epcot began to take on its final shape, with the World Showcase now being built around a lagoon and taking on its format of each pavilion showcasing its respective architecture. When the park opened in 1982, World Showcase featured nine pavilions, with Morocco opening in 1984 and Norway opening in 1988. In the SAU, Turkey also opened in 1988 as a part of the phase 2 project for EPCOT.

The Mexico Pavilion is the first stop if you go clockwise around the lagoon. Which is a terrible idea if you are drinking around the world since Tequila is a terrible way to start off a pub crawl.

The pavilion is unique as it is indoors! The facade resembles an ancient Mesoamerican pyramid. Once you enter the pyramid first you stroll through a museum area which contains traveling exhibits on Mexican culture and history. As you exit this museum area you enter a plaza on the shores of a lake set at night time. The plaza has vendors selling their wares from carts as well as some buildings with shops on the bottom floor. Also on the waters edge there is a romantic Mexican restaurant, the San Angel Inn. From the opening of the pavilion in 1982 to 2007, El Rio de Tiempo was a boat ride that encompassed the culture of Mexico. In 2007, El Rio de Tiempo was given an overhaul to suit the current generation and thus the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros opened on April 6, 2007.

The Gran Fiesta Tour is a slow moving boat ride where we help Jose and Panchito track down Donald who has gone missing in Mexico! It is heavily reliant on screens outside of one scene which very much resembles Small World.

The rumor at least if that this is because Disney reached out to the Mexican Board of Tourism to reach out and design this ride together. All they sent back to Disney was some old tourism videos and said "Mexicans love Small World." So, the imagineers built a ride around tourism videos and a small world style segment.

The Norway pavilion is designed to look like a Norwegian village. The village includes a detailed Stave church, and the exterior of its main table-service restaurant, Restaurant Akershus, resembles its namesake in Oslo. The exhibit showcases 4 styles of Norwegian architecture: Setesdal-style, Bergen-style, Oslo-style, and Ålesund-style. Much of the pavilion is taken up by interconnected shops. These shops are decorated with large wooden trolls and sell assorted Norwegian goods, including clothing, candy, and statuettes of Norse gods and trolls. The courtyard of the pavilion contains the entrance to Frozen Ever After. Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe is a bakery, featuring assorted Norwegian pastries, such as cream horns and open-faced salmon sandwiches. The courtyard contains the entrance to Restaurant Akershus, featuring a hot and cold buffet and "Princess Storybook Dining."

One former exhibit was a full-scale Viking ship, inspired by the famous Oseberg ship. Formerly a children's play area, the structure was removed in December 2008. And it was awesome! Like super duper cool! I loved it so much! Now it's former spot houses a meet and greet for Anna and Elsa.

Visitors enter the China Pavilion through a large Chinese gate. The courtyard is dominated by a replica of the Temple of Heaven, which contains the entrance to "Reflections of China", a Circle-Vision 360° movie exploring China's history and scenery, as well as a museum containing several ancient Chinese artifacts. Though the museum has actually been replaced with a showcase of Shanghai Disneyland. The courtyard is bordered by shops selling Chinese merchandise, and two Chinese restaurants. The pavilion is decorated with ponds, crossed by bridges. Chinese acrobats also perform frequently in the pavilion.

The pavilion served as the backdrop for a music video for one of Mulan's songs, "Reflection", performed by a then-unknown Christina Aguilera.

The Germany Pavilion is designed to look like a German town, but with architecture from different eras and regions. The Platz (square) is decorated with a statue of St. George and the Dragon and a clock tower. The Biergarten, at the rear of the courtyard, sells traditional German food while performers play live music. It is the best restaurant in EPCOT in my completely unbiased opinion. The pavilion also has numerous small shops selling German goods, including dolls and cuckoo clocks. The area near the pavilion is decorated by an extensive model village with working model trains.

Characters from the Walt Disney animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which was inspired by the version of the tale attributed to The Brothers Grimm, make appearances in and around the pavilion. Also, there is a model train garden between Germany and Italy.

The Italian Pavilion features a plaza surrounded by a collection of buildings evocative of Venetian, Florentine, and Roman architecture. Venetian architecture is represented by a re-creation of St. Mark's Campanile (bell tower) and a replica of the Doge's Palace. The pavilion's design is inspired by other hallmarks of Italian architecture, such as the Neptune Fountain (reminiscent of Rome's Trevi Fountain) and the Il Bel Cristallo shop (meant to resemble the exterior of the Sistine Chapel). Musicians, clowns, and acting troupes often appear in the piazza throughout the day. There are also small shops selling Italian goods, such as candy and wine.

A restaurant by the name of Via Napoli, designed by the Florentine architects Stefano Nardini and Raffaella Melucci, opened under the Patina Restaurant Group in 2010. It features Florentine architecture and authentic Neapolitan cuisine. The water used to make pizza dough is imported from Pennsylvania to simulate authentic Neapolitan dough. Via Napoli's three wood burning ovens pay tribute to the three active volcanoes in Italy: Etna, Vesuvio, and Stromboli. To do this, each of the three ovens are sculpted in the shape of the face of the god that their corresponding volcano is named after. The long communal table in the center of the room was built in Florence and features hand painted tiles depicting iconic monuments in Italy. Other notable features of Via Napoli are its high and vaulted ceilings, imported ceramics and blown glass, and the abundance of windows that flood the establishment with natural light.

The pavilion is a single large building designed in the Colonial style. It contains the American Adventure show and the Hall of Flags exhibit, a display of the different flags throughout U.S. history. The show is an animatronic show at a scale unlike any other where Ben Franklin and Mark Twain take the audience through the history of America.

It also contains the Liberty Inn Restaurant which serves American fare, such as cheeseburgers and hot dogs. There is a small gift shop, Heritage Manor Gifts, selling American items. In 2019, it was announced that the Liberty Inn Restaurant would be replaced by the Regal Eagle Smokehouse, offering barbecue style food and craft beers themed as a barbecue competition hosted by Sam the Eagle.
