What difference does it make Disney owns Pixar...why shouldn't they take every advantage of it.

I don't like how they want to only use Pixar. When Disney owned Miramax which had a great movie library and didn't even think twice about using any of them. Tron would make a good ride, Princess and The Frog, the list goes on.

What about Family Fued they are ownded by CBS, and they want to shoot at Universal? The Florida Lottery shoots there also. I think Disney's gotta want to do it like Universal wants to.

Family Feud? Picking the weekly lottery numbers?

Grizzly, just wondering, have you been to Universal Studios Hollywood and been on their 75 minute long tram tour? Now that's a tram tour of a real working movie studio, with lots of theme park elements thrown in as well.

Even in its circa 1990 heyday, the DHS tram tour was a pale and rather pointless imitation of the Universal Studios Hollywood "Glamour Tram" tour it was trying to emulate. In the DHS current 2010 version, I agree with others here who think it just needs to be put out of its misery. It appears to do more to hurt the park than help it at this point. :o

Yes I am an Annual Passholder at Universal Studios Hollywood.

DHS' tour was created for people who lived west of the mississippi and couldn't afford to travel that far (same reason for WDW). Knocking it down would rob the east coast of a nice tram tour.

Are you saying Family Feud can't be considered a real taping? And that's not it, they do TNA, Barney, and more.

I agree with Marni and Unkadug. I loved the original backlot tour. Loved It!! But as it exists now, it makes no sense. I mean, catastrophe canyon comes out of nowhere, the facades of Residential Street are gone, the continuity of the special effects leading into the Backlot tour is over. It is really sad. I mean think about it, Disney has a big hit in Depserate Housewives, if residential street were still there, all of wisteria lane could be there, in addition to the facade of the Golden Girls (Still in syndication) as well as other ABC facades, etc. And, where the HISTK special effects were, there could be a POTC special effects section. I would love to see the Backlot tour returned to all its grandeur, but in its current state, why save it? It just sickens me, really. And, I am not a gear head and I HATE Lights, Motors, Action!!:cry::cry:

I agree with everything you say here.. And, I thought I was the only one who doesn't care for LMA. It's hot, and after about 5 minutes its boring. The music in the beginning drives me nuts.

Since Family Feud is being talked about here - from today's O'Sentinel TV critic Hal Bodecker:

Steve Harvey brings extra laughs to 'Family Feud' at Universal Orlando

When Universal Orlando landed "Family Feud," the theme park got far more than a game show. Universal Orlando gaineda first-rate standup act: new "Feud"host Steve Harvey.

On Friday, he had the audience guffawing often during marathon tapings. The show, which starts airing a new season Sept. 13, produces eight episodes a day Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Sept. 19.

A Tram Tour that doesn't show you anything worth seeing? Half the tour can be seen from LMA! and other areas of the park. And exactly what is so fun about looking at park costumes hanging in a warehouse? I mean, seriously? People think that's interesting? DHS' tour was created to rip-off USH's backlot tour. Much in the same vaein that entire park was a working studio ONLY as a justification for building the park in the first place.
