I got an email from DVC about an incentive to buy as little as 50 'add on 'points to AKL, but nothing about SSR. Did SSR finally sell out?

Not that I know of. I just got a flyer in the mail yesterday with incentives to buy 100 add on points at SSR ($10 off a point + $500 gift card)

Had our flyer in the post today in England with regards to buying the 100 add on points at $94 + $500 gift card. So it looks like there is still plenty left at SSR.

I was talking to a DVC sales rep in Downtown Disney yesterday and he said it wasn't sold out yet. I was kind of shocked on how they don't allow tours to non DVC member for Animal Kingdom Villas until 5-7 P.M.. Even if you have a plane leaving before that time. :brick:

The AK Villas themselves, or the mock-up over in SSR? I went through the mock ups at around 2:00 PM before I became a DVC member.

Mock-up in Saratoga Springs. That is what the one lady told me at Sales Center Counter.

Well, I went on the tour last June. As I said, it was around 2:00 PM and they took me thought the mock-up

In fact, if I recall correctly, the mock-ups were "open" you just walked into them. There was a DVC person at a desk in the front, but she was just there to answer questions and make sure nobody trashed the place :D

But as far as getting "let in" or them asking for a DVC ID, I did not see it happening.

We also did the same thing last week. You paid $94.00 per point and after the recieved all the paperwork signed and your points close they will mail out the $500.00 Disney gift card within 30 days.
There were 3 offers at the time. You could add points if You already have them. They would offer the discounted price if You added up to 99 additional points. If You added 100 or more to Your Saratoga Springs point total, They also added the Gift card. The last offer was for Animal Kindom Lodge. Also a reduction in price per point, but instead of the $500. gift card, they would place 100 points into Your account matching Your purchase as a one time bonus. Any New accounts would have to purchase 160 points to get started with DVC.:D

As per the original question, There was no mention of SSR. being close to being sold out, Maybe by pushing additional points to current members, they would then reach there limit of points available to each resort. What with Animal Kingdom points being available and the "rumor" of the Kingdom Towers coming near Magic Kingdom, My guess is that they are trying to finish off all available points to the less newer DVC Resorts. Just a guess though.

We got our gift card when we signed.

This was on the DVC site today:

Existing inventory disappearing at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

Sales remain strong at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, where existing inventory is on pace to sell out later this spring.

The sprawling lakeside community is nestled across the lake from the bustling Downtown Disney® area at the Walt Disney World® Resort, adjacent to Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. The resort opened its first phase in 2004, and has since added two additional phases, with each building on the resort's upstate-New York theme of health, history and horses.

With the sellout of the resort's existing inventory on the horizon, Vacation Club Guides are fielding calls from Members looking to take advantage of special, limited time offers.

We just purchased and they said they expected to sell out in the next few weeks because of all the incentives they are offering right now. I don't think they were lying as we had already finished our transaction and the guy was pretty upfront about it. He said they need to get it done so they can concentrate on the AK DVCs.

They offered the $500 gift card, you could use it towards your purchase if you wanted to, they started the points back to Dec of '07, and they gave you a credit of $100 dollars towards the price for every point you bought (160=$1,600 off price.)

I haven't had a flyer! Now I am jealous!

$94 a point?? That's pretty good isn't it??

We actually bought into SSR for $85/point February 2007. We got a good deal on points because the incentive was if you knew a DVC member you got $15 off per point. This was our first purchase into DVC. That was a very good deal.
