I have 5:00 ADRs for Monday December 17th. I looked up sunset times and it is around 5:30. Will the animals still be out at 5?

The animals will very likely still be out until dusk. After that, you won't be able to see out through the windows anyway. Not every table gets a view of the savanna, though. Best to get there a little early and walk around outside before your reservation.

I have been to Sanaa a few times and found that the Animals still roam around after dusk but are usually hard to see. I would go early and check them out.

Some of the animals do spend overnight on the savanna. I think most of them do actually. So there is always a chance to see them. In fact, they normally offer night vision viewing sessions by the firepits so you can watch the animals. But only a limited subset of the tables have window views, and the animals may simply choose to be elsewhere at that time.

We didn't have a savannah view table when we had dinner there in May but we were still able to see the giraffe walk right by the window. After dinner, we took some time and walked around the viewing area out back. It was really cool.

Earlier the better...

At dark, you may or may not see animals from the restaurant. I've been there once when one of the feeding times put a bunch of grass/hay outside one of the windows, and we saw a few animals. Other times, we didn't see anything from inside.

There are a lot of viewing areas outside, however, and when we visit Sanaa and jiko, we love to go outside afterwards and look at the animals. The birds are usually roosting, but a few species still wander around, and giraffes, apparently, only sleep a couple hours a night.

Thank you evryone. One more question. We would like to walk over to Jambo House after dinner to check out the Christmas decor. How long is the walk?

Ok I lied, here;s another question...My hubby is pretty picky... Will the steak dish be "boring" enough for him, or does it have a lot of the spices etc....
I, on the other hand, love adventurous eating lol!
