All I can tell you is that, keep the salt on the ice. Straws shouldn't be needed with ice cream; I like mine thicker than that.

Indeed - Salt & Straw has been confirming this to outlets this afternoon. They plan to offer the first 100 customers a free scoop of ice cream on opening day.
