Sir Hiss- The Sage of Time was a character in Tapestry of Nations at EPCOT, so he does have to do with Disney. 
As for his speach though, he did have one, but I don't remember exactly what he said except that it ended with "We Go On". I'm sure someone else here knows it though.

There is an ancient legend of the Sage of Time. It tells us that when the Sage of Time first walked upon the earth, the nations of the world were one human family. They sang and danced together; there was peace and joy, and the circle was complete.
A thousand years passed, and the Sage of Time walked the earth once again. The Sage of Time saw that the nations of the world had grown apart; the human family no longer sang and danced together, but strove with each other to possess the earth. There was no peace, and the circle was broken.
A thousand years have passed, and the Sage of Time is once again among us, walking his great millennium walk. The dawn of a new day approaches when the circle is made whole again, when the nations of the world celebrate the gift of life together to the rhythm of drums and the joy of dance and the harmony of sorrow.
Here, in this circle of nations, the millennium walk reminds us that we are indeed one earthly family. Join us as we celebrate the circle of life, the family of humankind, the Tapestry of Nations!
Peace and goodwill to all who gather here for this earthly celebration. May the spirit of humanity bring us together. May the promise of the new millennium light the child within your heart. I dont know why they dont have the opening for Nations, but they have it for the Dreams version. One of the wonders of Disney as far as Im concerned.

I had forgotten that it originally ended with "celebrate the future hand in hand", but now that I think about it, during the Millennium Celebration it did. It wasn't until the celebration they changed it to "We Go On".
:lookaroun Thanks Grizz-- Do your hands hurt? Whoa-- :lol: Sure do miss that parade, as it was, the original!! How many people played the Sage of Time? Anyone know?
I always ran to the end to catch the closing. -- Liked the part where he walked around in a circle and raised his staff (?)at the end, and then the lights went out! The best !!

The peaceful dreams we had at the beginning of the new millenium. It makes the events of the years since seem all the more unbelieveable.

Grizz, your speach is somewhat right. All the way up to 'Peace and goodwill' is done by an omnipresent narator, and the rest is done by Sage of Time.
