Safaris/Character Breakfast Question???

I have read that it is best to do the kilimanjaro Safari first thing in the a.m. before it gets to hot. How long does the Safari take? would it be possible to do the Safari and still do a later morning Donald's Safari character breakfast. If so what time should I try and get the breakfast reservations?? Or is it possible to do the first breakfast and still do the Safari early?

Thanks - Laine

If you get to Safari first thing, it probably should take no longer then 25 minutes overall. The Tusker House Breakfast takes ADRs to about 10:15 or so. I did the later breakfast, and it was nice.

We have res. for 10:10 for Tusker. If the park opens at 9 that morning then it wouldn't be enough time would it for the Safari. Especially if the lines were very long??? Can we do it??

I think if you go first thing to the Safari, you should be fine. Another thing you could do is get FP, then hang around until your ADR (if you don't want to ride before).

Thanks,
but could you explain how the FP would help in this instance as I still want to enjoy the safari before it gets to warm. So are you saying do the earliest breakfast and if we have a FP for a time right after the breakfast for the safari??

You could do that. But I think if you have the latest breakfast ADR, and go to the Safari first thing, you should be fine.

I think we could make it. If not then we will get a fast pass go eat at 10:10 am, then go back over there. Last year DEC 10th there wasn't much movement out there on the safari and we got on about 10. So not sure which is better to go on the late night or the early morning. If it is night time they are open till 8 that night, Is there lights to see the animals if you go in the dark? Thanks everyone..We missed so much in that park when we went before. Having to leave by 5 is way to early when you get there at 11. I plan to stay all day if we can.

Yes - you can do it. As long as you're at AK for 9am park opening (and I mean in the park waiting for the rope drop) and make your way straight to the safari. You'll be done by 0945 or very soon afterwards and have time to make your ADR. Remeber - since Everest opened, most of the early morning guests go toward it rather than anywhere else

No, unfortunately. The Safari closes very early. I believe during the winter it closes around 4pm or so. Even during the summer, it was closing around 7pm with an 8pm park close.

OK, so we shall give it a try...Good info from all thanks so much. Do they do anything at the rope drop? We didn't do any last year. I mean we didn't quite make it early enough to see anything going on.
