s/o wet areas in the parks...changes of clothes?

I understand that at different parks there are opportunities for a kid to get soaked. Not including the water parks of course. Plus add the fact that kids can make a mess just from eating ice cream or ketchup etc...

How many outfits do you pack in that diaper bag or whatever you are carrying for your 2-3 year old for a day at MK? Epcot? AK? HS?

My dd was a little peeved over the weekend when I only had 1 spare outfit for her (the norm) and she made a mess of her ketchup at McDonald's this weekend. We were on our way home so it didn't really matter, but I think she just expected me to have an endless supply of clothes for her in her bag. LOL!

We just carry one outfit per child, but we take afternoon breaks at our resort....not sure if you are planning on doing that.

Also, we wait until the end of our trip to buy souvenir t-shirts....that way we can buy one earlier in the trip in an emergency situation if we need a change of clothes.

If it makes you feel better, you could go ahead and carry two shirts, since shirts are most likely the item that would need to be changed. At that age, their shirts are so tiny they do not take up much room anyway. Pants or shorts are a bit bulkier, so it might be harder to carry multiples of those.

I just got back Sunday and each day I packed a change of clothing for all 3 of my younger children, ages almost 2, 4 and 5. Like the other person said their clothes aren't very big and don't take up much room, especially my daughter, I packed a lightweight dress that when folded could probably fit in my pocket. And I did have to change at least one of them each day so I'm glad I was prepared.

We do one outfit per child. And you could always have them wear their swim suit under the first outfit so when you see the water, just take off the good clothes and away they go.

Remember to bring a gallon size zip lock for the wet clothes or everything else in your bag will get soaked.

Have fun.

Well my dd is still in diapers unfortunately so having her wear her swimsuit under her clothes isn't going to happen. Great tip for older kids, but not for us.

And yeah, I will have a whole stash of gallon size plastic bags with me for dirty diapers, wet clothes, leftover snacks, dirty sippy cups, etc.

Because sometimes you can't find a trash can when you do a diaper change. I also use them for wet clothes etc.

I'm like everyone else and take 1 complete outfit per child in gallon zip locs. I also racked up on cheap clear ponchos for 33 cents each at a super market that was going out of business. They are perfect for wrapping the kids up in while they eat their ice cream. Then I just wad it up and throw it away.

Normally I'd do one spare outfit per day. This next trip though I'll probably bring one change of pants and two shirts. DD is in that stage where all she has to do is drip a little water on her shirt and it immediately needs to be changed or things get ugly. :brick:

1. Get some of those $1 ponchos in the tiny packages from Target. they take up a lot less space than a change of clothes.
2. Put one on your kid each time he/she eats.
3. Ignore funny stares from strangers.
4. Toss in trash afterward (the messy ponchos, not the strangers).

Welcome back Lucky! Hope you had a good trip.

I did get a few rain ponchos, but no way is she going to wear them while eating. She wouldn't even tolerate wearing a bib when she was a baby. Funny thought though, thanks.

Depends on when you are going too. We were in Epcot on hot and humid day. I let DD (almost 3) play in one of the water fountains. She was soaked. I changed her pull-up and put the wet clothes back on. She was in the carriage, so there wasn't any chafing of the legs while walking in wet shorts. By the time we did a few rides/shows, she was dry and did it all over again. On cooler days, I tend to bring one outfit and if I need more than that, it's buy shirt there, or go back to the hotel. With her, we usually make a trip back mid-day at some point, so I just re-stock the diaper bag at that point.
