So this is the first time I’ve ever seen it. I’m at AK today and the running Carnotaurus wasn’t working. Eeventually I saw an awkward dimmed spotlight towards the ground that highlighted a stable Dino head. It was.. weird. Awkward. Just looked like a decapitated Carnotaurus. How often does this happen?

(I seem to be on a bad luck streak at the start of my College Program when it comes to experiences!)

That’s the spare “B-Mode” head for when the main one isn’t working

I could understand how the attraction would be less exciting without this feature working, when I rode this twice back in September it was easily the highlight of the ride for me. Awesome effect when it works, especially when you sit on the left side.

Is the sound effect of the carnotaurus running after the ride vehicle still working? I had understood that it was in place when Dinosaur first opened, and was removed because it was too scary for some people. During my last visit in 2017, it was included again-at least it sounded like it was.

Yep. Last fall he chased you from left, over, and to the right.

It's definitely a nice touch-if there is an effect that is too difficult to do visually (having a full carnotaurus AA chasing you would be pretty much impossible, I would imagine), substituting sound instead would be the next best thing, if done right.

Every dinosaur we saw was pretty static, minus some mouth and head movement. I was waiting for something freaky but it never happened.

A lot of the original effects are gone now. The jumping Compsognathus and the swooping Pterodactyl were disabled, the vehicles would move more violently, several fog effects, etc

But, the second that Disney adds back the original scarier ride movement, and special effects, the GP complains because its Disney and every ride should be for everyone to enjoy. Not saying the shouldn't improve the basic things that should work without reverting back to the original.

Had a conversation with a really cool CM. Running carnatorous has been out since December and is expected to be out for another full month. Maintenance here is a joke. All the Dino's need a refurb.
