Trip Report Running around the Kingdom with our alcohol sweaters

My fiancé Jacob and I bought platinum passes for Christmas. We're supposed to be saving up for our wedding in October, but we accidentally bought passes and now we can't stay away! We were there for NYE weekend and holy moly was it crowded! Never again. I wish we lived closer so that we could randomly go during the week when it is least busy, but we'll be stuck in Atlanta until Disney Corporate wants to hire us. Within a couple of days of buying our passes, I already planned and booked hotels/Airbnbs for five trips in the next few months.

Our first trip was last weekend. We left work at 4pm Friday and sped away from the Atlanta rush hour madness as fast as we could. We made it in a solid 7 hours despite all of the rain, accidents, etc. Our Sunpass was almost as great of an investment as our Disney passes. We checked into our Airbnb, got settled in, and went to sleep. We had two long days and four theme parks ahead of us. Am I the only one that has a hard time falling asleep knowing that I will be immersed in the magic the very next day? I grew up in California as a Disneyland child and I cried the first time I went under the Walt Disney World entrance sign. It truly is the most magical place on earth!

We woke up at the crack of dawn on Saturday in order to make it to Hollywood Studios before rope-drop. Jacob is not a fan of roller coasters, but he loves RNR Coaster, so we wanted to get him a beer or two beforehand. Unfortunately, we couldn't find anywhere to get a drink on Sunset Boulevard that early. He had to put his big boy pants on and just get on. It was a little funny to see how high his heart rate was on his watch. We got to ride Rock-N-Roller coaster THREE times before 10am. By the time we got off the ride the third time, the wait was already 90 minutes. That was our cue that we were done riding that one for the day and needed to go onto the next.

We headed over to Pixar Place to ride Toy Story Mania. Jacob beat me (as usual) and then I made him stand in a 30 minute line with me to meet Buzz and Woody. We used to come to Disney and try to cram in as many rides and shows as possible. Now that we have annual passes, we can come and spend our time waiting in lines to take pictures with the characters. We were the only people in line without kids (no shame), but I did promise him a drink afterwards for being such a good sport. The people in front of us had fussy little ones, so at least Jacob behaved. So worth the 30 minute wait!

We headed over to Tune-In Lounge for some drinks at our favorite HS bar! We got lucky and there were two seats clearing up as soon as we walked in (but then again...not too many people are drinking at 11 in the morning). We were already a bit hungry, so when I found out we could order food at the bar, I was SO excited. I had my usual Long Island (best bang for your buck if you ask me) and Jacob tried their Patron Margarita. Then when he found out he could get a mixed drink for only $9, he switched to Tequila Pineapples instead.

We also ordered Onion Rings (my first time EVER eating onion rings - I hate onions) and I highly recommend them! They complimented our 11am drinks perfectly. I ordered a chicken noodle soup and it was gone before I could get a picture of it. I like to think of it as preventing the hangover before it comes. We went over to Star Tours for our next FP and then headed to EPCOT!

Epcot is probably our favorite park. The rides aren't the best, but the drinks sure are! It's always fun exploring the World Showcase and trying out the different foods/drinks/desserts. We rode Finding Nemo, Soarin, Living With The Land, and then headed over to the World Showcase. We always go clockwise and never seem to make it all the way around. We somehow always get stuck in Mexico (at La Cava Del Tequila to be more specific) for hours, so this time, we decided to explore counter-clockwise. This was our first time here for The Festival of the Arts. I bought the cutest piece of chocolate ever made. I was sad to eat it, but it was delicious!

We stopped for some crepes in France - also delicious! We tried both the strawberry and sugar crepes.

It was nice to get a little touch of France before we actually go for our honeymoon next year! I have never been to Europe and I am most definitely looking forward to it. We saw people walking around with very pretty frozen drinks, but it was way too cold for those, so we'll have to try them next time (when we bring more appropriate clothing).

The pop-up photo booths around the World Showcase were a lot of fun! Here are two of our favorites.

Hi Babe,

Nice report! Don't forget the part where we were silently judged for a beer at 9am and then the younger girls who were envious of our beer.

Hello All,

I am the lucky man. We just try to have a little fun now that we are AP holders. I was shocked at some of the stories we heard while there. Stephanie and I are looking forward to more fun in the future.

That happened on the second day! No spoilers lol

So jelly of your boozing around Disney. Hubby and I started our Disney obsession after kids so I would feel guilty going without them. Someday... I love France so you are going to have an amazing honeymoon. Enjoying your trip!
