Never ran a 12K before…

Funny you should say that; I just signed up today for a 12K race in a couple of weeks (I’d been on the fence about it for awhile).

It's 3 4Ks. So about 2.5 miles each race. My thoughts is "why?". Other than the obvious money grab.

My guess is it’s a play on 12 days of Christmas.

Ran the Steamboat Willie 5K today, was pretty difficult thanks to the humid weather. It also tied in nicely with Dopey Training. Timing suffered because of the weather but that is fine.

I will likely be running the challenge virtually for this. Interestingly enough it seems the challenge is the only option available.

I did 5K today too (I also did 5K last week at the beach).

Sorcerer’s Apprentice 5K completed (my personal favorite version of Mickey).

This tied in nicely with Dopey Training and the weather finally decided to cool down a little bit. Two down, one to go!

12K’s of Christmas Medal box came in today. I haven’t earned any of these yet so won’t unbox the medals.

The “sweatshirt” is possibly the lightest I’ve ever seen. Mug and medals seem to be of nice quality.

Rumor is that other than the summer and Christmas virtual series, there will be no more virtual races in conjunction with the in person races, beginning with the 2024 W&D race.
