Rumors and Theories surrounding WDW

I came to these forums in hopes of talking about some rumors and theories and maybe how likely they are surrounding the topic of the Walt Disney World Resort:
New Park? What was that land buyout for?
Well I have a theory,
It seems like Bob Iger and the Imagineers are working on fixing Epcot and Hollywood Studios and since expansion room will soon be needed to add more attractions maybe the land buyout to the south of the resort was meant so they can build a bigger area around those two parks and maybe some for Animal Kingdom,
I guess they will have to move/make more highways but it will give them more room,
They also could be using some of that open area for a big Water Park to combat the Universal Volcano Bay,
I think it would be interesting if they put a major attraction in each country area in Epcot that have thrill and education (like Test Track) to bring more rides,
Magic Kingdom has enough expansion room and it probably won’t be fully used up for a decade or so

Welcome to the forum. I'd recommend starting by reading the big list o' rumors (rumor tracking thread) pinned at the top of the forum. That contains links that can send you to the various discussions related to topics such as land purchases, expansions, upgrades, and the like. Make sure you read most (or at least a decent part) of a discussion before posting, as ideas that have been repeated often tend to wear out their welcome quite quickly.

Hope to see you contributing to other threads!

There is a thread where this was discussed, I would have to do some digging to find it. The land is most likely going to be used for wetland offsets. There was a large land purchase a couple years ago and that is all it has ever been used for.

[Edit]
Here is the thread: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/disney-buys-1000-acres-of-land.952044/

You are correct that they are using this land purchase to allow future expansions, which will include new resorts and, if needed, park expansions. There’s not much concrete on park expansions as this would be moving into the late 2020s and 2030s, but Disney will have the option to expand the parks.

I’m not aware of a new water park even being on the radar. Blizzard Beach desperately needs updates.

whats interesting is they raise prices partly in hopes to cut down crowding but they are constantly changing and updating to attract more people. hmmm....

I was thinking on it being a major themed one to outlive it’s predecessors as the ones we have now killed River Country

I hope they lower the prices to make more people to come once they have more rides so they have more capacity
