i wish that they would bring back the back the old song which was 'hot hot hot', they used to have all the characters dress up in bright clothes to, they had to dance in sequence to the music.

It was pretty neat, but this was also back when there weren't as many visitors as there are now, so those walkways were actually big enough to have the busses without being a huge hazard to the crowds.
I never knew that the character bus was used as guest transportation. It would explain why there is two of them backstage.

I remember the guest transport Double Decker Busses in World Showcase being used in Summer of 1989 and again in late Spring of 1992 when I was there, and by late Spring of 1995 they were gone

On a side note the Friendship boats don't cut it either. When both are working it's good but when only one is in service it's like there are no boats at all. A 35 min wait :snore: to go across is crazy :brick: :hammer:. I could be a 1/4 plus around before the blasted boat comes.
The walkways were and are still big enough for the busses. I can recall two busses traveling side by side going in opposite directions with plenty of room to spare. It's alot more crowed (and dangerous) in MK if you combine the Fire Truck, Horse Drawn trolley, and the vintage car all up and running on Main St. with guests strolling along.

Apparently no one on these boards have small children. Losing the Characters on Parade would be a huge blow to my 4 year old. He loves being able to play, dance and take pictures with this huge group of characters. It is the main reason why my son asks to go to "Mickey's Ball." If they take this away, I see us not going to EPCOT as often as we do now. We have taken a couple of families with us on recent trips (they have young kids as well) and each of them has pointed to this interaction to be the best character meet and greet out there.

I actually enjoy this meet and greet as there is more energy and fun with the music and seeing the characters coming. It is a really fun way to meet the characters. My daughter loved it too. It was the best early in the morning when we could get characters to ourselves. Some of the characters could be seen elsewhere on property, but this is how we first met Jiminy Cricket and Robin Hood. I think they should keep Characters on Holiday, but maybe get some different outfits to showcase the different countries attire and have some more unique characters.

Okay here's the deal:
It's not 100% for sure that the DCOH bus is going to be taken away. There are a lot of rumors floating around but here are some possibilities:
1. There will be a week in November that they will take away the bus and see if there are guest complaints about there being no characters.
2. Epcot's 25th is coming up soon, and there have been rumors floating around about there being a new parade coming to the parks which would include the characters.
3. One of my friends believes that they might be bringing back the characters in the different countries in the different apparel (i.e 3 Caballeros Donald in Mexico, Colonial Mickey and Minnie in American Pavillion).
Remember these are RUMORS (Disneyphilip and Sirhiss) and none of them are for sure, but these are some of the possibilities that are floating around.

Character on holiday
I LOVE the character on holiday!!! Maybe I've been lucky, but I have never had any trouble with lines, or the characters being out for a very short time. Some of my favorite character moments have been with the characters on holiday. I would hate it if they took it away! Not to sway away from the topic, but why aren't there more charcters in Future World? For example at Spaceship earth? Except for Nemo at the Living Seas I've only seen the characters in World Showcase.
