Rumor: No Festival of Fantasy February-April 2017

None of my mice that would likely hear of such things have said anything, that's not ruling it out, this is just the kind of thing they would normally hint at.

If rumors are to believed, PTN will be making its way to Walt Disney World, debuting next summer. DL will obviously get Electrical Parade, and we'll get PTN. The warehouses used for MSEP are definitely not big enough for PTN - when I was back there a few months ago for a KttK tour, that building is very tight for space.

Doesn't completely explain why FoF needs to be down for so long, but suggests some of the reason. FoF could probably do with some TLC anyway, its been performing near-daily for the past few years...

Except MSEP ends in June forever... and then PTN comes back from refurb.

Pretty sure Paint the Night is staying in Disneyland from what the insiders are saying. I mean, they could always change their minds but I'd much prefer a new parade to be developed for the MK. PtN is fine but I think the MK deserves something a little more grand and traditional. Dreamlights is exactly what they should be shooting for in terms of quality and playing on the nostalgia but also moving forward. I doubt we get anything close to that so something in between ... really too bad Spectro was trashed. Could have been updated for years to come.

Maybe they're planning for a future parade with bigger buildings to house bigger floats? Just a thought? Doesn't mean PtN is coming.

So now we are all throwing a fit because WDW is taking FoF offline for some, apparently, TLC? Lol, the over the top theatrics around here never cease to amaze me. Hope someone gets a Tony next year

Parades go down. They have to be refurbed at some point. But this wouldn't be such a big deal if Disney hadn't just discontinued the night parade just a few months ago. 0 for 2 sort of sucks.

And Spectro getting axed while MSEP was running for the third time.

I can understand Animal Kingdom and Epcot not having parades (though I could argue they could do water parades during the day ...) but the MK and DHS shouldn't ever be without a parade. JMO. Especially the MK. I'm sure from a cost perspective they'd love to be without one.

Can't forget the awesome Toy Story Parade and the Mulan parade.

Gotta love it - first time in a long time there will not be a single parade at any of the 4 theme parks. (I don't consider move it shake it irritate it a parade - its more a show that rolls into place)

Sad times but at least we have the cabanas right?

I think we wouldn't mind if it wasn't in the context of every parade but this one having been removed in recent years. Only one parade left at WDW and it going down for several months with no other major entertainment options like it. As you said MiSi doesn't count really as a "parade". It's a supplemental show that's been running since 2009, and was refreshed in 2014 I believe.

Agreed, it seems nothing more than an obnoxious roadblock. I just wish they'd cut the volume in half.

I will be at Disney in April for Spring break for 9 days with 3 days planned at MK. We will be there for so long I actually thought of getting a Fast Pass for this parade (it's only worth it in my opinion if you can waste one based on how much time you have to do everything else). My kids love this daytime parade. Kinda bummed out if this rumor is true. No more Main St Electric Parade at night or FOF during the day. Hopefully they add something in its place on the interim.

Sad to report the fast pass for the parade did not exist for FOF. That spot has been monetized by making you have lunch at Tony's, its now a dining package...and they dont care if there are only 5 people in the spot and the rest is empty....you can NOT be there. Yep...... Not happy at all about this!!! I would burn a fast pass, but am not gonna throw money at Tonys for a sitdown lunch that will eat up more of my touring day taking me off the street and out of the lines...just my 1/2 cent. Not to derail but just educate anyone that might be like I was uninformed =about how the spot is now being used.

That's right, they turned that FP an upcharge event. I can't keep up sometimes lol!

I enjoyed the FoF FP one year that we did it. It's too bad they took it away.

I doubt that FOF will be dark, official WDW website has it listed for Feb-April as performing. This is official information, nothing has been said about it going dark.
