Like I've said before,if they are ever going to have an refurbishment and bring back the Dreamfinder, then they need to plan it out and not rush anything.

The ride isn't that bad. I honestly didn't like the original version all that much in the first place. In fact, I liked the ride more before they partially redid it by adding more music to it and stuff, when it still had the slight intellectual bent. If they can redo it again, well OK, I guess. I probably won't complain. They should get the end of Spaceship Earth right first I think however.

Oh you mean the "intellectual bent" where they told you that you had no imagination at all and that a random assortment of optical illusions would stimulate you? Please, Journey Into Your Imagination is one of the worst things we've done as a species.

I have nothing to say.

No it's not. Not even close. Worst things we've done as a species are......

1. Manos the Hands of Fate
2. The Room
3. Jar Jar Binks
4. Jersey Shore
5. Batman and Robin(The Movie)

That's the short list.

Personally, I think if you are going to redo Imagination, it should be a brand new ride with Figment. You can have Dreamfinder if you want or just references to him. But make it new and fresh. Show some stuff they haven't shown in the last versions of the ride.

I'd put American Godzilla on this list too.

That was #6. Followed by the DragonBall movie, Twilight, Son of Beast, and the 1976 King Kong movie.

When you stop and think about it, the current Imagination ride isn't all that bad compared to other things.

The original was as close to prefect for the concept as possible. The second and third version absolutely pale in comparison. Not everything Imagineering is great, but this definitely was!

I wasn't talking about Current Imagination though. I'm fine with current Imagination while waiting for a substitute. It's basically just us getting caught in the crossfire of Figment enacting prankster retribution against the Institute for the abomination that was the 2000 version.

Ah, come on now, Son of Beast was awesome... well with the loop it was. Add Justin Beiber to that list though.

Jersery Shore needs to be higher.. lol and what about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? Maybe just loop that in with Jar Jar as bad decisions by Lucas...

Son of Beast was as enjoyable to me as getting beat up by thugs at a bar. Ironically I also experienced the same physical feelings as well.

Were on a roll here.

In my opinion, i think the thing that puts the Imagination problem in an entirely different league of bad compared to that list is that Imagination 2 and 3 actually replaced an original work of art with garbage. When i say replaced i mean when the new version came in, the old one was gone completely. I mean you don't see a movie company burning every copy of an old movie in existence when a new one comes out to "make room" for it. The good stuff will still exist and i can always still enjoy it. The original King Kong still exists, so do the Dragonball TV series' (btw, GT is pretty terrible IMO), and better Batman movies than B&R are being made to this day (and the old Burton ones still exist obviously).

So seeing a bad movie or whatever isn't going to have nearly the same affect as losing a great attraction forever and having it replaced with garbage. If i see a crappy movie, i lose maybe $14 or so and about 2 hours (more or less) of my time. That sucks of course and i will be quite irritated at first, but i'll get over it fairly quickly. I can't disagree with your list being full of horrible media (i've experienced several of them to know this), but i also can't say they had quite the same effect on me as seeing great rides such as Imagination being scrapped in favor of inferior ones. I don't really lose that much with their existence compared to a ride being gutted or closed.

The original ride is likely gone forever, and there's no telling whether anything of worth will ever rise up to fill its place. All you can really do is rely on old memories and video, which just isn't going to be the same as experiencing it personally.

Yeah i got the joke, i just wanted to add a little personal note to it. If you were serious, the worst things we've done as a race would be something far more destructive and violent (war, genocide, death of any kind, random hate crimes, etc etc). I just wanted to convey that while the irritation i get from a bad movie will fade relatively quickly, Imagination's gutting and replacement still gets under my skin.

As a side note, i admit that I slightly enjoy Batman and Robin on subsequent watches. Hated it originally, but now it's gotten to a point where it's so bad it's kind of funny. I find myself laughing in spite of it all. Note quite the same as the original Adam West TV series, but similar in some respects.

I can only watch Batman and Robin with RiffTrax

IMHO, saying that version 2 had a slight intellectual bent is like saying Justin Bieber sings opera, like saying Steven Seagal is positively Shakespearian, like saying that the hotels on 192 with "Main Gate" in their name beat anything on property, like saying the wand classed-up Epcot, like saying Tiger Woods had a minor moral lapse, like saying the USA pavilion has the best food in world showcase.

Teasing a bit, but you catch my drift. :)

If they can at least refurbish/refresh/restore Imageworks upstairs under Colorvision into something at least close to, if not as good as, the original ... that'd be good. I like the idea of there being multiple sponsors; perhaps other companies would be more inclined to step in with the idea that they wouldn't be responsible for everything.

It's highly likely that if we ever do get 4.0, it won't be a copy of the original. We can only hope that the re-do would live up to the original, bring back the fantastic original story and characters, and utilize modern technology. If I could talk to Disney, I'd strongly encourage them to woo Apple into taking over the ride. I'd even go so far as to say they could remove the Magic Eye Theatre if the expanded space could turn the attraction into an incredible E-ticket combining the best of what made the original great with the thrills modern Disney wants to add to the park. If they put the time and money into it that it deserves, the result would be incredible.
