I'm curious as to what some are finding offensive about the Hall of Presidents. But I can see Disney being done dealing with the small number of vocal idiots, as @Master Yoda mentioned.
It was doing pretty well in London. Opened in Dec 2017, sold out well in advance, won numerous accolades and continued to sell out similar to Harry Potter. Somehow I doubt that only those who “knew US history” enjoyed it and were able to follow it.I would have to agree and disagree. Unless you know your history, you would have no idea what is actually happening in Hamilton. It’s entertaining and definitely not dumbed down. On the flip side, at least the Hall of Presidents actually teaches you something. AND, it was an attraction that Walt tried to create for Disneyland. It still amazes me when that curtain pulls up and you see all of the Presidents standing there. This is the kind of attraction that makes Disney, Disney and not just another Six Flags. But I’m also a history nerd so I’ll take HOP and American Adventure over something that just goes fast any day.
Speaking of Ben & Me, just watched it on Disney+ this 4th of July.Walt greenlit Ben & Me, which featured a talking mouse coming up with bifocals & the Declaration of Independence.
Most of Shakespeare's plays were adapted from previous works.
There's a reason it was hyped up, it was a rare exception of allowing people to see the show (and the original cast) on TV. Also, it's helping Disney+ get more subscribers.Tried watching Hamilton on Disney+ this weekend with my daughter. It lasted 30 minutes. I couldn't stomach it. What an over-hyped piece of garbage. Schoolhouse Rock is 10x better than that junk.
It's only gotten worse once news of the Trump AA was being added.Personally, I think the problem is a certain segment of the population simply can't behave in public, and Disney is done with dealing with it.
I have probably seen HOP 20-30 times in the last 12 years and I can count the number of times that some moron had a comment for the AA of the current president on one hand. I don't see that situation improving anytime soon.
Shocked meter pegged at zero. It's only gotten worse once news of the Trump AA was being added.
Looks like Jim Hill and Len Testa from Disney Dish were accurate with this one.

I hear HoP is staying the same. Now a lot is undecided, so it may not stay the same. It may change a little, or it may change a lot. Also, I hear Jimmy Carter is being brought in to consult, but it depends on his health. A backup plan would be a combo of Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Jimmy Fallon, but once again, all contingent on the green light to get the funds allocated and project rolling.
Is this how you do it? I want to make sure I have all my bases covered.
Following a musical isn’t much different to following an opera, a TV show, a play or a movie. Especially when you have these things called programmes which tend to give a synopsis to help people understand the background, key plot moments and important characters.I never said that you couldn’t enjoy it and follow it. However, there are numerous references to historic figures, events, etc., that unless you have a little background, it’s going to go over your head. They cover a 28 year period in a little over 2 and a half hours. It’s a bit of a whirlwind.
Hmm... there are multiple possible versions of Star Tours and Guardians of the Galaxy at Disneyland. That might be an interesting idea for the Hall of Presidents. If the OP is right it doesn't mean the celebrities will be in the show. Perhaps they would write music and a script.
Again, a version of the show for children would be great. But there should still be the traditional version. Simple touch of a button to activate a particular version.
Everyone is happy.
