Rumor has it...

Rumor has it that Haunted Mansion will soon lose it's FastPass machines and they will be coming over to Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. This is supposed to happen in the next month or two. It's been floating around for a while, but I heard it from a few more people with a timeframe now.

On a sidenote, our show car is no longer out front. It has been moved back to Victory Circle. There's been no word that I've heard of about placing cars out front, however... my personal opinion is that they'll put a couple of the regular cars out there for photo ops like it used to be.

Nice to hear about this. Didn't know Mansion might lose it's FP machines but seeing as they are almost never needed (even during peak times) it does not surprise me.

Is HM popularity falling that much, or is it the que moves faster you might think. I would think that with the Pre ride story (stretching room) that the que would back up.

I love love love HM, but I would never wait more than 20 minutes for it because I know the wait could be considerably less! Two nights before NYE around 8, there was like an hour wait for it, so we came back later that night and we only waited 15, if even that. The line moves much much faster than you think it does (or so it seems).

Fastpass kind of messed up the lines. Seems like it made them longer imho.

The FP for HM never worked well anyway since it just made a second line that merged without any rhyme or reason into the main line. Made people grumpy and led to more then one argument I saw in my visits.

On NYE, at poinst the line was up to an hour and a half. Few hours later, right back down to 15 minutes. It's like PoTC. There's simply no need for a FP on it.

edit: wow. 500 posts already!

That's awesome because the speedway needs it so much more. I've often remarked that it would be so easy to add fastpass to the speedway, since it has two seperate loading lines.

Good move. HM is one of those rides that doesn't need FP because of its constant moving line. Rather, FP actually kind of clogged up the whole line process at HM.

Yep, and they can easily add a FP entrance to the extreme left of the queue building... although I'm not sure exactly where they're putting the FP machines... that area's already crowded enough... maybe in that planter area between the Mad Tea Party and Speedway...

That's a win-win situation. Mansion is one of those attractions that doesn't need the FastPass and the Speedway needs it deperately. Good move if they go through with this.

One question: Who rides the Speedway? Is it really popular or are the lines just extremely slow.

Sure, HM doesn't need Fastpass. But there is definitely something that needs FP more than the Speedway. Perhaps Dumbo? (jk)

A little bit of both. The ride is pretty popular, but the lines move at a snails pace because only 1-2 people are in each car.

This doesn't bother me for a few reasons:

1. I collect FASTPASSes and the Haunted Mansion FP will become a collector's item.

2. A new FASTPASS is something cool to add to my collection!

3. I don't ride HM. I just don't like it.

4. (The most important reason) I'll finally be able to ride the Speedway. I've always wanted to, but couldn't stand to wait on the lines.

5. This may pave the way for certain attractions to get FPs that need them. (Dumbo, it's a small world, Backlot Tour, etc.)

Just my opinion.

Backlot tour and Small world don't really need them. I feel that Fastpass is only needed for rides that have long lines even in the off seasons. These two don't hold true to that (as do others). Dumbo can't have fastpass because of the loading system. It would make the stand-by line impossible to deal with.

You might be able to put fastpass on dumbo, it has two boarding areas as well. They would just need to change the lines a little.

I don't think they should FP rides that are in constant motion. (i.e. Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, Buzz Lightyear) If the ride never stops the wait is tolerable.
