ark News - (9/25/07) Screamscape has been informed that the management at the Magic Kingdom has decided once again to not run the Christmas version of the Country Bear Jamboree for the second year in the row. The lower level management protested of course, reminding them of all the complaints they had last year when the Christmas show was given the budget ax, but apparently this was shrugged off because those were just ‘verbal complaints’. Apparently Disney management feels that verbal complaints hold less water since they carry no physical presence and are often made hastily, while anyone who sends in a written complain is taken more seriously since they have the paperwork to deal with as well as the fact that the guest took the extra time to actually write something and send it in.
Since this is the second year in a row that they have tried to skip out on the Christmas show, it pretty much leads one to conclude that they are ready to get rid of the show forever and may never bring it back if something isn’t done. So if you would like to see the Christmas version of the Country Bear Jamboree show brought back to the park then please send your written comments to:

You can also send an e-mail complaint as well, but know that the snail-mail method is the one taken most seriously.

OK, now I'm royally ticked!

I love the Country Bears and was really looking forward to seeing the Christmas show last year. I was very upset when I found out it had been cancelled since I have never seen it. We will be back for a few days in mid December and once again I have been looking forward to seeing it for the first time and once again my hopes have been dashed.

Somebody get a rope!:fork:

I could care less either way. CBJ just doesn't do it for me anymore and the Christmas version was just plain bad, IMO. A minute into the show my wife and I glanced at each other and rolled our eyes at the whole thing. That it's not coming back isn't a big loss.

I love the Chistmas show. I love the regular show. It's corny. It's hokey. It's one of those things you have to let yourself enjoy even though you know to like it would just not be cool. I'm steamed that the Christmas show isn't going to be back again. Last year was bad. It's not like WDW rethemes any other attraction like Disneyland does. I'd be much happier if they'd just do a HM or SW makeover.

Happened in DL didn't it?

And I believe they've regretted it ever since. While I like the Pooh attraction, it's not getting crowds like it does at Disney World. Personally, I know I miss Country Bear Jamboree and its other variations. I was happy to get to see the original again in person today.
It's a shame how lazy management can sometimes be about certain things. The little touches like that are what usually sets Disney apart from the rest. I'm sorry they don't understand that like they used to.

if they get rid of cbj then im giving away my annual pass. thats one of the best original attractions left - and the christmas version just made christmas more special...it was a tradition for our family to see it. and last year we were lets say mad. course im using g-rated language :(

They still do the Country Bear Christmas Special every year in Tokyo Disneyland. And since they keep their attractions in such pristine working condition in Tokyo, it only takes them one day of closure to switch over from the regular show to the Christmas show.

Tokyo Disneyland proves it is entirely humanly possible to offer the Christmas Special version of Country Bear Jamboree, and with very minimal downtime no less. So if WDW chooses not to offer the Christmas show, it is only because they are lazy and don't want to spend some extra cash for good showmanship.

I also would be sad if you guys lost Bear Band. It is one of the things I really look forward to when I come out and visit MK. Our Pooh just sucks - it's even worse than MK's and MK's sucks pretty bad compared to Tokyo's. And yeah, Pooh only gets a line if DL in general is hugely crowded or people are waiting for something to do until they can use their FastPass for Splash.

I'm really glad I videotaped the heck out of the Christmas show in case MK ditches it too. Aaargh!

How long before they replace CBJ anyway????

I did CBJ for the first time 2 weeks ago with my gf. Seriously about 3 mins into it we were glancing at the exits....but there were too many people on either side of usto escape. We were in the back of the theater where the sound is just plain bad...though I dunno if the sound is good anywhere in the theater. The songs were dumb and the jokes even worse. IMHO it is the worst attraction at WDW...even worse than Sounds Dangerous!

I seriously doubt that a closure is on the horizon for CBJ and just because there will be no Christmas version of CBJ doesn't mean CBJ will be shuttered in the near future.

And yeah, Pooh only gets a line if DL in general is hugely crowded or people are waiting for something to do until they can use their FastPass for Splash.
If MK's Pooh were in Frontierland, I doubt that it would have the line that it currently does. Placing it in Fantasyland is what causes such long lines for it, IMO. The placement of DL's Pooh causes it to be missed by some people. We almost didn't notice it as we made our way off of Splash.

Apparently, you haven't been in Sounds Dangerous in while. :ROFLOL:
