I little off topic, but I noticed it in the pics here too- why don't they put liners in the trash cans (in any of the 3 resorts)? I mean think of what gets tossed :depressed:. It REALLY grosses me out- I bring can liners when we stay there.

Most hotels have stopped putting liners in the trash bins.

Any rumors related to the Jurassic Park suite refurbishments? I understand the main room w/ king bed/ sofa bed will be remodeled to reflect the pictures above, but we're wondering specifically about the kid's room.

Green initiative.

scuttle, can you help me out? i called just this second and they said the refurb is starting in Jan 2015 now instead of sept. how can it be either of those times when you have cleary posted pics of the new rooms? is the room you took pics of just a demo room?

Scuttle indicated that these are test rooms, putting everything together and see how it looks in the real world.

Mmmm I'm not sure what to think... I like the hallways, and the room is not BAD, but... this resort is supposed to be an exotic retreat for explorers and adventurers in Bali... not some kind of "Hard Rock Hotel meets Royal Pacific". What I really liked about the RPR was the warm, tan-colored curtains and wallpapers, the brown massive wood cabinet and table, the comfy armchair, the vintage travel posters. It was cozy and inviting and felt a bit adventurous. Now, the look is more contemporary design (look at the desktop chair, looks like one in my office!) with a few exotic touches (mainly the bright flowers), I am not a fan. It reminds me of the current refurbished rooms at the Polynesian. Bright colors, but a more formal and sleek look than the ancient designs of the rooms.

Lighting and a slight refresh would have done wonders for the room. Depending on which way your room was facing, it could feel very dark in the rooms. At night I felt the room never got bright enough and appeared dingy.
