Isnt that RCI not Carnival?- RCCL Grandeur had a fire on the aft mooring deck, decks 3/4. The fire was put out in 2 hours
Sorry I got confused you are right. It is RCCL.
When we were on the Fantasy there was a small fire due to one of the dryers getting extremely hot...we slept through the alarms or we deduced they are localized unless the problem gets to a certain level. However, they apparently were able to deal with it without impeding on the voyage...would have been interesting if it escalated (not in a good way) seeing the pre-cruise safety boat and station thing is made into quite the debacle by cast members (at least from what we witnessed)...
Apparently the fire alarms went off (once again I didn't wake up so I don't know if they are localized...however, I have slept through the house next door burning down) and they made an announcement when it happened...good ole Brent "Your Cruise Director" made multiple announcements starting around 7 AM in the morning (which I was up for) explaining the situation and that the cruise will be going on as expected and then again mid-day and when everyone got back on the ship from port...WHOAH… WHAT? I never heard of this… that is quite fascinating. I am sure stuff like this happens all the time, just surprised I never heard of it. Did the general assembly alarm go off… like was anything said, or what?
I dunno if you could call that a safety drill alarm as it's more of what seems to be a graceful 1950s radio tone...but the drill itself was something...they really need to coordinate with the cast members and find a better way to direct and place people because we found everything a giant mess as cast members contradicted each other one after another...I was consoled by the fact our verandah was right above our boat and if I really had to I could literally hop down...I would probably sleep through the alarm as well… I swear if I didn’t keep my stateroom door open slightly I wouldn’t hear the safety drill alarm go off.
Wow… that seems odd, we where in the Walt Disney Theater (Life boat 3… ha I remember that still beat that Tammy!) and our head was very nice and explained everything. We told the guy when walking in our stateroom number and never had an issue. Section K...we were told to stand three different places (one which we were told isn't K only to have the CM finally see it was K) and then asked why we were standing where we were put by everyone under the head...then they placed us in front of a door to which another CM was kind of annoyed we were standing in front of a service door...then they kept asking me to get closer to the 300 lbs woman next to me who took up two lines...then they were like oh, we forgot it has to be height order...afterwards there was no direction as to where to go and a lot of people who had not been on the ship before got stuck in dead ends (you couldn't go up most of the service stairs you went down really throwing off people as to where they even were)...it was just a giant mess for what was suppose to be a security drillWow… that seems odd, we where in the Walt Disney Theater (Life boat 3… ha I remember that still beat that Tammy!) and our head was very nice and explained everything. Wow. That stinks! I hope you contacted someone on the issue.
