Route from MCO with a drugstore?

Hi everybody!

Started gathering things for my trip and yeah, there's no way I can bring all this stuff.

I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a route from MCO to WDW (specifically Yacht Club) that has a store like a CVS or Walgreen's? I'd rather not get involved with a big grocery store or a Walmart/Target; just need someplace quick where I can find a good selection of sunscreens, toiletries, bottled water and juice, etc. and be in and out fast.

It will be around 2 pm if that matters at all.

Thanks!

Assuming you are renting a car, go out the south airport exit to 417. Get off on Orange Blossom Trail and take a right. Just on the south side of 417 you'll find a CVS.

Thank you guys! Between Google Maps and Mapquest I had 4 suggested routes, and no clue which was the best overall. Appreciate the info.

If you have a rental car - you will pass numerous drug stores, grocery stores, walmarts. One thing I love about Orlando is the abundance of everything. Not to mention palm trees off the runway as soon as we land :)

Sweet, thank you disney4life2008! Yes, we'll have a rental. I'm used to NJ where there is a drugstore on every. single. block. Didn't know if I'd pass anything convenient. I don't want to be lost all over Orlando (beautiful views of palm trees aside)...I will want to be in WDW as quickly as possible!

Stores are plentiful :) I also encourage you to get away from WDW for a few hours if you can. It is nice to drive down International Drive - wonderful dining and shopping.

If you don't have a car, Turner Drugs 407-828-8125 will deliver to Disney Resorts they used to charge $5.00 but thats been couple years ago.

They're up to $7.50 now, I think. I just used them for the first time last month. I thought it was very reasonable. If you need something, but either can't off property, or don't want to take the time to! My time is worth at least $7.50 to me while I'm on vacation :)

When you exit off 417 onto 536 (the first Disney exit) there will be a CVS on the left hand side, next to the 7-eleven and across from caribe royale. That will be your easiest store and you won't have to get off/on at an extra exit which would result in an extra toll.

We are partial to Walgreens, so the two we use are at 13502 S APOPKA VINELAND RD and 12100 S APOPKA VINELAND RD. They are right off I4 (Take exit 68 for FL-535). The first address is closet to the Interstate, but it's right by the Vista Way Apartments so it's always busy. The second address is a little farther, but it should be less crowded. Hotel Plaza Blvd. is in between both of these so you can get to the resort areas without getting back on I4.

I agree sissa216 I thought it was very reasonable!! If you are at WDW with children and they get sick your doctor can call in a perscription and they will deliver it to resort so I have their number programed in my phone/

Thank you, deanaandrich! This is perfect information!

My brother is arriving a couple days after the rest of us, so we're all going to the airport to pick him up and then exploring Orlando! I have a lot of great memories of the rest of Orlando from when I was younger...the Titanic exhibition and shopping and mini golf and Universal (where we are not going this time). I'm looking forward to all of it!

It'd be great if the Titanic exhibit was still around, my son is obsessed with the Titanic and knows more about it then me. We are arriving a day early and needs ideas of what to do!

MJCota, looks like it's still around! titanictheexperience.com
I don't know what kind of changes it's had, but when I visited it a few times in the 90s it was really excellent. Well worth the time. If I had an extra 2 hours this trip, I'd definitely go!

I read the reviews and it doesn't sound so great, so we are skipping out on it. I don't want to waste the money on it. We keep talking about going to the space center. Anyone got some reviews on that?

Hey Lam378,
If you go on and do BING MAPS, go to MCO and you can actually look at your routes you can take to WDW just so you are familiar with the area and are not driving blind. I do this every trip and write down the directions. There are basically 2 ways to get to WDW...toll and non-toll roads. I have taken the non-toll roads so I can save some money...yeah I'm cheap! But I think its about the same time, its just not main highways/toll road! Take S Semoran Blvd out of airport, instead of getting on 528 toll road, go to the next light(N FRONTAGE RD) and turn left to McCoy road and follow that onto Sand Lake...bypassing the tolls! Just a thought to save a few $'s. When it comes to saving I find anyway I can!
