Rope Drop?

I don't do many rope drops these days, lol. But MK has always been my favorite, with the singing and dancing, confetti and streamers. Like everything else at WDW, it isn't as good as it once was, but it's still good and my favorite.

I love mornings in the AK, too, if it isn't too humid.

Epcot is the only park I have not done a rope drop for. For some reason we are always about 15 minutes late for it. My favorite has to be AK the bus scene is nice and I like to hit the safari as early as possible so there are more animals around. Least favorite is DHS because I was almost trampled to death when they let everyone in. I had to run to ToT just to not get knocked over, then we had to walk all the way back to the end of the blvd where CMs were walking the rope to the ride. Didn't notice them before that.

It must be nice to have families that actually get up in time for rope drops. I demanded we do the MK drop on our last trip. I lost.

:arghh:

I had the same problem in June. They took "We should get there at 9" as "We should leave around 9." They didn't take into account that getting to MK from the parking lot takes a really long time.

Then they thought it was rude I left for DHS to make opening while they hung out at the pool until noon, showed up after 1pm, and then were annoyed at how long the lines were. I was 75% done when they got there and was out of the park by 3 felling only a little tired since I got so much done really quickly. Then I hung out the hotel until it was time to meet them at Fantasmic. Guess who the only one not totally POed and fed up with the crowds was.

MK rope drop is a MUST DO for us. The welcome show sets the right tone for our day. I love walking (I mean speed walking) down Main Street while the shop CMs are waving their big Mickey hands at us. Once we walked down the street with Alice and the Mad Hatter and rode the first tea cup ride of the day with them.

For Epcot, we are always in position for Soarin' at rope drop. I do miss the days when you could run to the attractions; now the CMs walk you to them, yawn. We always ride Soarin' and then get FPs for it so we can ride it again later.

For HS, DH makes the dash with the mob to TSMM (he has the longest legs) while the kids and I head to ToT and RR (DH doesn't care if he misses them).

I have never done rope drop at AK although we are usually in the park by 9:05. For some reason, we do AK at a more relaxed pace. We stay in all day so it is easier to ride EE and do Dinoland later in the day when many people have left.
