Rope drop at MK during railroad refurb

I've never attended the rope drop ceremony and was planning to for the first time this October. Just saw that the railroad will be down while we are there. My question is, does anyone know if it would still be worth it without the added charm of the characters arriving on the train? Any idea of what they might do instead? Thanks for any input!

I went in October last year and the railroad was closed for refurbishment as well. DEFINATELY STILL WORTH IT!

We go again Nov 14-21, I have come to the conclusion I will never see the railroad working :(

Thank you! I was looking forward to seeing the characters come in on the train but it will still be a magical day!

There is an "abbreviated" version of the Welcome Show when the train is not in use. Like @Ariel854 said, it is still worth it to arrive at opening.

Just FYI, the dates for this refurb changed like 2 hours after you posted this thread.

It will be closed October 12-November 20 instead of September 28-November 5. I don't know when your trip is, but this does free up the first 12 days of October!

Thanks...we'll be hitting MK on October 21 which is also an evening extra magic hours day. We were going to try rope drop to close and go out with a bang on our last day in the World :D

Aw that's too bad! I was really excited when I saw the change, because now it's open for my trip...but at least you still get to see rope drop is some form!
