Rooms at Contemporary

We are looking at booking at the CR for our next trip and I'm looking for reviews on the room types. I am wondering if one type--- tower, bay lake, or garden room is better then the rest and why. Thanks!

I have only had one Contemporary experience staying at Bay Lake with a lake/courtyard/pool view studio room.

We absolutely loved it. I forget the room number but it was on the 9th floor and our balcony had views of the pool, the courtyard, and the lake. So beautiful and relaxing. We spent many afternoons resting on the balcony, taking in the scenery. Also we had an amazing view of MK from our elevator corridor's windows. Additionally, we really appreciated the quick walk to the main building for food, shop, and monorail access as well as the walk to and from MK.

The studio room was comfortable with a modern flare, albeit a bit in need of a rehab which I believe it got/is going to get. The room size was just right for DH and I. The bathroom was roomy and sleek. We enjoyed the kitchen inlet. Lots of closet and drawer space. Good electrical plug access too which is sometimes not the case in hotel rooms.

Over all we really enjoyed it and will likely be staying there again on our next trip! Happy choosing.

We have stayed at CR in (old) North Garden Wing, demolished for BLT, South Garden Wing, and Tower MK View. We visited room sibling's family had in BLT. All were awesome. We particularly liked spending less $ by staying in garden wing (2 adults, 3 small kids) than we spent in Tower MK View. We also liked proximity to and walk to MK. We don't think there is a bad choice anywhere at the resort. Have a great trip. If you have any other concerns about CR, we will try to answer.

Thank you for the information. I have a couple other questions if you don't mind. I had read in a few other forums that staying in the tower can be quite loud and the walk from the garden wing can be a little long and confusing. Have you noticed any of those issues?

Tower is somewhat noisier than either BLT or Garden in our experience, but DEFINITELY not an issue for us. In the tower, chef mickeys, the contempo grill, and the bar are all located on the south end of the 4th floor concourse (away from park by looking at the elevator shafts) and the north end of the concourse is the shops and arcade. Neither are particularly noisy for us, but in comparison, the north end is quieter than the south end. Also, the monorail is close to what would be the 5th floor, in our estimation, and thus any rooms lower and closer to the monorail, in the tower, could experience some slightly greater noise/vibration from their operation. Since we were in the parks all day and most of the night, we rarely, if ever, noticed any noise whatsoever, and we had a south end room probably on a floor or 2 above the monorail. We could open our door and see chef mickeys and look down on the contempo grill.

As for the walk, pshaw. Even though our garden wing rooms were on Bay Lake, and nearly as distant from the lobby as you could possibly get in the garden wings, the walk was certainly not a hindrance, not overly long, and not confusing at all. If you have a mobility concern, your mileage may vary. In fact, each morning, we actually enjoyed walking to the exit of the garden wing to the outside and being happy to see the sky, the tower, and the pools, as we strolled in an unhurried manner (again, 2 adults, 3 young kids) to the main tower to either catch a monorail, bus, or take the walkway to the MK.

We love the CR. We think you will as well.

Thank you so much for answering my questions. I think we will enjoy the CR too :)

We stayed in the garden wing November 2015 and we absolutely loved it. First it's pretty roomy so for my family of 4 which includes two 6 footers we were very comfortable. At first we thought the walk to the room was long but bam when we saw the room and view it was awesome. Once you get your bearings it's not so bad, it is a big resort but we quickly got used to it. Pool area was kept clean and my son especially enjoyed it. Every morning I would get up and go get my coffee while everyone was sleeping and watch the sun come up. The walk to the MK is an added bonus. We would stay there on our August 2017 trip again but I've decided to go through my bucket list of resorts LOL. Have a great trip.
