Room Type

I am thinking of taking my first Disney cruise in a couple of years. I have taken a few cruises before but I would like to bring my mom with me and she has never been on a cruise and informed me the only cruise she would go on would be a Disney Cruise.

I am planning on doing a three day cruise, then the rest of the days at the Polynesian Resort. In choosing a stateroom, should I pick an interior or exterior stateroom? Should I choose to have a verandah or not? Since this would be my mom's first cruise ever, I wanted to get your opinions as to which type of room would be best for a first time cruiser.

Any help is much appreciated!

For my first (and only) cruise, we got an exterior with a big portal window that was nice. I'm not sure if it was necessary, but it was very cool to look out from our room. You don't spend a whole lot of time in the room though. When you go up in room type, you also get slightly bigger rooms -- and the class we got had two bathrooms -- 1 is a shower, toilet, sink, and the 2nd was a toilet & sink, so you could both get ready at once. They are extremely small of course, but have enough cubby holes to store all your stuff. Do some Google searching and you'll find plenty of photos and videos. Maybe wdwmagic has a section, but here's another: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr-staterooms.htm

All DCL staterooms have the split bath except for the lowest category.
