Room request YC

I have heard complaints about YC hallways being long, windy, and never-ending. Is the 5th floor (concierge level) a smaller floor than the others? I am trying to decide on room requests, and if the halls are really long, we want to be near elevators, but if it's not a horrible trek, I'd rather not be near elevators.
Aside from view, any other requests you'd make? I am debating between king bed and two queens. It is my husband and I, my 4 yo daughter (who can sleep on daybed) and my 14 mo son (pack n play). I want to maximize space. I am concerned about all king rooms being adjoining and how are the bathrooms? I see some pictures that are only stand up showers, but we will need a tub.
Any insight? Thanks!

I can confirm that the 5th floor is the smallest of all, yes, so the hallways are not nearly as long as on the floors below. Aviod standard view rooms as they face parking lots and roof tops. Gardens and Lake views are quite nice.

They can be long but they're certainly not as long as walking around a value or moderate or even to many of the buildings at the Grand Floridian or Polynesian, so it's all pretty relative. I think the windy comment is only applicable if you walk past the AC unit. Also you can mitigate the length of the walk depending on what entrance you use for the building and if you're willing to use stairs. Personally I find the YC and BC hallways pleasant.

There is a 2nd floor garden view room overlooking the tennis courts that happens to be right above an entrance vestibule. Because of this, the balcony is tremendous! We were traveling with another family that got this room. Not exaggerating when I say the balcony is about half the size of the room itself. It's very unusual. If you're interested I could dig up the number. It's not too far from the elevators. It's a room with two queen beds. There is very little traffic going in and out of the entrance below. It's not a main entrance. Never seen a balcony this big in a Disney hotel.

I am not sure this room is in use right now, or even this entire wing.

The tennis court is used as the dumpster area for the room refurbs. There are dumpsters on the courts and the fence is surrounded in scrim. The wall at the end of each hallway here is blown out, and the construction crew is dumping their trash out and into the bin. I would have to imagine a majority of rooms in this outer wing are out of service.

Wow! I did not realize that the construction was that extensive. We were there last August, same wing a few rooms down from giant balcony room. It's our favorite wing, along the quiet pool area. Very tranquil.

It is not tranquil right now. It seems to be the service area for the current room refurb. The tennis courts serving as the dumping ground, and the service road between the Dolphin and YC as the transport route.

The quiet pool is not that quiet currently. We stayed over at Beach in March and went snooping around as Yacht is our preference.

They are long but nothing that bad at all. There are also multiple entrances so if you know the layout you can save yourself steps.

We're staying club level, so on the 5th floor, but will keep in mind for a future trip :)
