Role Change

I know that once you accept your role for the CP program that you cannot change, but I was wondering if you could audition for a character role again once you get down there. And if so, could you switch your role if you made it? I auditioned, but did not make it and I am now in Operations for Fall, but I was unsure how this would work if I wanted to try again. Thanks!

I'm not sure, but I've heard of people doing it. One of my friends worked quick-service food and beverage and became special friends with Mickey. In his spare time could pick up parade shifts, but I think he was replaced later on (thank goodness before summer hit), so it might be unstable. Maybe Mickey just really needed more amigos. Who knows?

Once you have a role you can not switch (except in certain reasons). However, if you plan on extending the CP you can go to the audition for extending the program.

As a CP, you can get promoted. That does happen. Seen several CPs move up to Guest Relations or into some sort of backstage-ish role like money handling or resort operations.

If you're a Monorail Pilot, just hit the stick to P-5, get 3 MAPOs, and the next morning you will be working at Kilimanjaro Safaris. :ROFLOL:

You can audition.

If you are cast, you can switch into the entertainment role, but they will ask you to extend your program.

I don't know if things have changed since I was there, but when I was a CP in 2003, I wanted to transfer to entertainment. They told me that I couldn't until my program was over. So I did, and they didn't ask me to extend my program, I just became full time when I transferred.

I also did my CP in 03.
I auditioned and was cast, but was told that if I wanted to transfer to entertainment that I would have to extend until January. That would've made my program an entire year long, so I said no thanks!

Yeah, that's how it was for me. You can't transfer until after the original progrm is over.

I must've misunderstood what they told me. They probably meant that after August, I could go into Entertainment. I completely misinterpreted! I've been misinforming people for years - oops!
